Overall, it's your choice what clothing brand you'll buy. For as long as it is your own personal choice, or the clothing that is right for your age, and you have the money to buy it, then go ahead and grab your own favorite jeans.

American Eagle

American Eagle is teens' second favorite brand in teens across the US, only behind Nike. American Eagle is known for their Flex Design, an innovative idea that increases the amount of stretch in jeans. Both American Eagle and its sister store Aerie boutique seemed to be focused on comfort above anything else. If you're after an everyday pair of jeans for casual use, American Eagle's jeans are very comfortable and affordable,  making them ideal for regular workwear and active pursuits.

Abercrombie

Abercrombie takes a more refined, less-is-more approach to a lot of their designs, which makes it appealing to an older, college-age demographic.  Abercrombie offers a preppier approach to style in comparison to their sister company - Hollister.  Abercrombie is still totally affordable, although they do offer some high-end options.

Hollister

Hollister is marketed more towards young teenagers and high schoolers, as a lot of their clothing errs on the younger side. Hollister has more of a laid back, California-style vibe. Price-wise, Hollister is a little cheaper than Abercrombie, and a lot of their clothes are often on sale online.

Aeropostale

Aéropostale is one of American eagle outfitters' main competitors. The company's main target market mainly includes teenagers of between 14 and 17 years. Aeropostale has kept to costs for their clothing and accessories reasonable so the average blue collar worker can afford the brand. They're more expensive than a lot of the extreme value brands out there, but the quality makes their items worth a little expense for value shoppers.
