Balenciaga Track 1

Review:

Balenciaga's athletic sneaker, the Track, which was debuted at the fashion house's Fall/Winter 2018 runway show. Taking inspiration from the '90s and '00s, the Track builds on the hi-tech, turbo template of the Triple S, but puts functionality at its core.

Gvasalia's version features an exaggerated tread, layers of overlapping, color-clashing protective panels, and hulking, built-out sole which extends out at the heel. A deconstructed take on a vintage track-meets-hiking shoe hybrid is built with nine separate elements that wind and weave around one another, creating a super-supportive cage around the wearer's foot and delivering a typically striking aesthetic.

The sneaker is then finished with Balenciaga branding on each side alongside the shoe size decorated on the toe and a special “TRACK” logo on the rear.

And while it's a more streamlined silhouette than the Triple S, it still has that aggressive design ethos and, in its way, a meta sense of humor about itself.

It first came in five colorways for men, from the relatively reserved all-white and all-black, to the pop-ier, fantastical orange and green versions，now it has more colors.

Balenciaga Track 2

Review:

Balenciaga's Track.2 Trainer are released as part of Fall 2019. At a quick glance, the Track and Track.2 look almost identical. But Balenciaga have upgraded the Track Sneaker, stacking on even more layers for their follow-up sneaker dubbed the 'Track.2 Sneaker'.

Balenciaga Track 2 featured a similarly dynamic upper design fitted with over 170 individual panels and pieces. This iteration boasts an extremely caged upper, reinforced round toe, rope laces, and a high-rise tricolor rubber outsole. The sole sports a dual-density EVA material that keeps the overall weight light and comfortable. Elsewhere, the branding has made a shift from the tongue to an upper panel. Faux-worn athletic layers leave room for a more open-air structure that exposes metallic mesh and negative space.

Hard-to-miss logo details can be found at the tongue and near the ankle. Initially, the Track.2 released in three colorways: two tonal white or black iterations and one that elevates a grey base with pops of red and blue.

Balenciaga Track 3

Review:

Spring/Summer 2024 saw the arrival of a new member of the Track family in the Track 3. The third iteration of the popular model is significantly more stripped back than its predecessors, removing a large majority of the layered details across the midfoot, and focusing on the overall shape of the sneaker and its iconic distressed sole.

All of the signature Balenciaga cues grace the new Track.3, from the“Track”branding on the heel tab to “BB” embossing on the toe cap, sizing on the toe box, and more Balenciaga branding on the tongue. It's available in classic black, flashy blue, pink, orange, and beige, the shoe's debut colorways.

Balenciaga goes heavy with the distressing - something that has yet to appear frequently on this style. A mesh base is overlayed with nylon panels in the style of leather and suede, often appearing with a chrome tone to it, notably on the blue.This is also echoed on the beige pair, while the women's pink offering is less overtly aged. As for the black colorway, the mesh and nylon is more muted, hiding the distressed details better than its colorful counterparts. The Track.3 probably is lighter than its predecessors, thanks to that less detailed upper.
