How to Spot Real Diesel Jeans?

1.The Diesel Jeans Material & Fabric Quality

Authentic Diesel jeans are made from high-quality materials with attention to detail. Counterfeit products may use inferior fabrics, resulting in a noticeable difference in the overall feel and texture of the jeans.

Real Diesel   jeans fabric is generally made with 100% cotton. Some sorts of denim, however, also comprise an elastic component such as spandex. This type of denim is called stretch denim.

Typically, the warp threads are dyed with an indigo dye in the distinctive blue color of "blue jeans", while the the weft threads are left white. In the garment produced from this fabric, the dyed warp-side faces outwards and shows the color whereas the inside shows the white weft threads.

Tip:Keep in mind that the counterfeit is not going to be nearly as sturdy as a pair of Diesels. If you are able to physically touch the jeans, give them a good feel, you can tell the durability easily by just the feel of them.

2.The Quality of Stitching

Really study these jeans, real Diesel jeans are made with great attention to detail, the yoke as well as the pockets are one of a kind and the stitching is intricate and unique from other jeans. You will easily be able to spot a counterfeit Diesel if you have a real pair to compare the potential fake to.

Inspect the stitching on the jeans: authentic Diesel products usually have neat and precise stitching, while fakes may have irregularities, loose threads, or uneven stitching.

3.The Tab on Pocket

The easiest way to determine the authenticity of a pair of jeans is to look at the Indian head tag. This tag should be located on the right side of the waistband. If the tag is found anywhere else, the jeans are fake.

The tag is either a white or tannish color (starting in ’06, all tags have been tannish).

On the tag will be a stitching of an Indian head with the words “DIESEL-ONLY THE BRAVE-DIESEL” wrapped around the bottom half of the head.

Under that will be the word “SIZE” and on the right hand side will be the size of the jeans. Below the size will be the words “MADE IN ITALY” or, in some cases, “MADE IN MOROCCO,” "MADE IN TUNISIA," or “MADE IN ROMANIA.” The vast majority of Diesels, however, are made in Italy. Any other country listed besides those three are fake pairs.

The black print should be bold and solid as opposed to shallow and messy.

4.Microstitching on the Label of Diesel Jeans

The most important feature to recognize whether you have an original or a plagiarism in front of you is the so-called micro-stitch (microstitching) at the bottom of the main label. This is a fine silver stripe woven into the label.

The strip shimmers more or less strongly depending on the light. If you look closely or with a magnifying glass, you can see that the word "DIESEL" is repeated on the strip and that "normal"and "on the head"can be read alternately.

This is sometimes difficult to see with the naked eye, but is often the flaw forgeries fail to reproduce due to the technical skill needed to create this stitch. If there is no font on the strip, it is a forgery. If the strip is not sewn in, it is also a fake or plagiarism.

5.The Wash Label

Underneath the Indian Head tag there should be a wash label including country of manufacture. These countries can include Italy, Tunisia, Morocco and Romania. No other country will ever be listed.

The wash label features a lot of product information in a number of languages. It is important to check that the Model (MOD) matches the model of the actual jeans.

The fake has added a hologram to make it more convincing. But its quality is quite bad

6.The Logo in the Front Right Hand Pocket

Almost every pair (99%) of Diesel jeans feature a logo in the front right hand pocket that always read the same exact thing.  It says 'Diesel Industry' followed by the red Diesel 'D'.   And underneath says 'DENIM DIVISION' in red.

All Diesels will either have a leather D-patch by the waistline, OR a string-stitched D in the upper third of the right back pocket. NO authentic pair will ever have both.

7.The Hardware And Zippers

Check the hardware, such as buttons and zippers. Genuine Diesel jeans use high-quality hardware, and the logos on buttons should be clear and well-defined. Counterfeit items may have cheap, poorly crafted hardware.

Diesel jeans almost always have some buttons and studs somewhere.  At least one of these will always be branded with 'Diesel'.  Check that any engraving, stamp or emboss is cleanly finished.

8.The QR Code/ The Serial Number of Diesel Jeans

Italian DIESEL incorporate a heat-printed QR code on the inside of the waistband of every pair of DIESEL Jeans.

In order to ensure the authenticity of its products, Diesel activated a product authentication system as early as Spring/Summer 2017 on all jeans and for all other Diesel products starting from the Autumn/Winter 2021 Collections, which have been provided with a special label with QR code and a 12-digit numerical code that constitute a digital identity of the product.

By framing the QR Code with the smartphone or on the website www.certilogo.com, it will be possible to verify whether the product is authentic or counterfeit.

9.The Swing Tags

New Diesel jeans are accompanied by swing tags. Check that the registered trademark R is present and for any errors in the Diesel logo size, shape and font.

10.The Packaging of Diesel Jeans

Authentic Diesel jeans come with quality packaging. Counterfeit products often have substandard packaging materials, with errors in logos, colors, or overall design.

11.Where Are Diesel Jeans Manufactured?

Diesel's denim's products are produced exclusively in Italy, with many of its products produced by out-sourced factories, with Tunisia emerging as a major production hub.

Avoid any sellers listed from Turkey, Bulgaria, Thailand, the Phillipines, Hong Kong, etc…these are HUGE markets for fakes and 999 times out of 1000, the product you will receive from them is not authentic.

Tip: Underneath the Indian Head tag there should be a wash label including country of manufacture. These countries can include Italy, Tunisia, Morocco and Romania.

12.The Price of Diesel Jeans

If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Authentic Diesel jeans typically come with a certain price range, and significant discounts or unbelievably low prices may indicate a counterfeit product.

All DIESEL Jeans on diesel.com start at $195 and anything priced under that at full price are most likely on sale, fake or the Irish brand, also called Diesel.

On rare occasions, poorly listed authentic Diesels will sell for cheap, but do NOT bank on multiple authentics going for under $70 .

13.Buy Diesel Jeans From Authorized Retailers

To minimize the risk of buying fake Diesel jeans, purchase them from authorized retailers, official Diesel stores, or reputable online platforms. Avoid buying from unknown or suspicious sources.

If a seller is selling vast quantities of the same cut/wash, they’re almost certainly fake. Avoid sellers who have 15 pairs of X-Rotuck 796 for sale or who have 50 items listed but only 6 different cut/washes.

Also, if a seller has multiple pairs in very common sizes (i.e.: 32/32, 34/32, 36/32, 38/32) that is also a red flag.

How To Tell Fake Diesel Jeans Quickly?

So that concludes this guide on how to spot fake real vs fake Diesel jeans . Here are the top signs to look for to distinguish between a counterfeit and a pair of genuine Diesel jeans .

  • Missing or generic rivets? Fake. Many jeans manufacturers’ rivets (and other hardware) include the company name.

  • Loose threads and other poor quality construction inside? Probably fake.

  • Logo on inside of waistband in wrong font? Fake.

  • Exterior hangtag with different paper quality, font or twine attachment? Fake.

  • Zipper missing name-brand logo? Fake.

Tips:Remember that counterfeiters are constantly improving their methods, so it’s crucial to stay informed and vigilant when making purchases. If in doubt, it’s advisable to consult with Diesel customer service or seek the expertise of a professional authentication service.

Anyone wishing to contribute by reporting suspicious or illegal behavior of counterfeit products with the Brand can do so by contacting Diesel at the following address brandprotection@diesel.com indicating the link to the site or directions to find the store where you saw the product.

How to Take Care of Diesel Jeans?

Denim is in constant development and flux, the colour/dying of denim is never stable nor unmovable, it changes depending on the use of it,so how to take care of your denim? Here are some tips for taking care of Diesel jeans:

  • Follow the care label: Always follow the instructions on the garment label.

  • Wash less: Washing denim too often can cause it to shrink and fade, so it's best to wash it as little as possible.

  • Use cold water: Use cold water on a gentle or delicate cycle.

  • Use the right detergent: Use a detergent made for dark colors.

  • Wash separately: Wash your jeans separately or with other dark colors.

  • Hand wash: Hand washing can be a safer option to avoid fading. You can also submerge your jeans in lukewarm water for up to 45 minutes to remove stains or odors.

  • Wash inside out: Turning your jeans inside out before washing reduces rubbing on the fabric and minimizes contact with dye.

  • Spot clean: Between washes, you can use a soapy cloth to remove stains and let them air dry.

  • Dry flat: After washing, lay your jeans flat in the shade to dry. Avoid putting them in the dryer.

  • Iron carefully: If you need to iron your jeans, use an iron set to a maximum temperature of 110°F.

Diesel denim is unique and needs to be treated with love and care.
