"Skin glow" can be "described by several synonyms, including radiance, luminosity, brightness, vibrancy and complexion." Fusing skin care and make up, the B-Goldi Bright Drops from Drunk Elephant boasts a unique formula that fades hyperpigmentation and brightens skin all while creating a golden glow (without being sparkly or glittery).

"In the case of B-Goldi, our customer really had been asking for something with a golden champagne shade that gives a natural -looking (re: non-glittery) radiance, but as we've done in the past, we needed it to primarily address specific skin concerns — without using any of the sensitizing or disruptive Suspicious 6 ingredients we strictly avoid," said Masterson, founder and chief creative officer at Drunk Elephant. "That's exactly what we've done with B -Goldi Bright Drops, which is infused with 5% niacinamide (that's the vitamin B in its name), along with other skin -tone improving antioxidant extracts, to deliver bright skin immediately, and even brighter skin later.”

Key Ingredients & Benefits

Infused with 5% niacinamide, mulberry leaf extract and diglucosyl gallic acid, this serum helps to fade hyperpigmentation, dark spots and post-breakout marks. Light-reflecting pigments work to give the skin a touch of luminosity, while replenishing omega oils nourish and smooth the skin.

  • 5% Niacinamide: Aka vitamin B3, niacinamide has a wide range of benefits, most notably its ability to improve signs of aging (fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness) as well as uneven tone and texture. Research has demonstrated that niacinamide, even in low concentrations, can help strengthen a compromised skin barrier, boost skin's synthesis of ceramides and cholesterol—both essential substances in barrier health and elasticity—and improve skin's defenses against water loss.

  • Diglucosyl Gallic Acid: Converted in skin into trihydroxybenzoic acid, which inhibits excess melanin production and is a powerful soothing ingredient. It also has potent antioxidant benefits.

  • Morus Alba Leaf Extract: Commonly known as mulberry leaf. Provides soothing benefits and has the potential to improve the look of hyperpigmentation, particularly when paired with other brightening actives.

  • Squalane: Plant derived (from olives). Squalane is a natural moisturizing factor, an emollient and natural antioxidant that soothes and prevents water loss from the surface of the skin without a greasy feel.

  • Virgin Marula Oil: This super-absorbable oil, high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, helps moisturize, nourish, and rejuvenate skin for a youthful glow.

  • Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil: Native to the Amazon, Plukenetia volubilis seed oil is commonly known as sacha inchi, or Inca peanut (it is not a peanut, nor a concern for those with tree nut allergies). It is rich in antioxidant compounds (vitamins A and E) along with essential omega 6 (linoleic) and omega 9 (oleic) acids, and contains three times as much linoleic acid as coconut oil and more than 30 times that of avocado oil.

  • Ubiquinone: Extracted from plant sugars. Also known as coenzyme Q10, ubiquinone has powerful antioxidant properties and plays a crucial role in fighting past and present environmental damage to the skin.

  • Quercetin: A plant-derived antioxidant bioflavonoid, quercetin acts as a powerful soothing ingredient and has some research demonstrating its ability to promote healthy collagen production in the skin. Its benefits are amplified when paired with lipids and natural moisturizing factors.

Drunk Elephant B-Goldi Bright Drops are versatile, customizable liquid drops housed in a cute square-shaped bottle with a gleaming gold cap. The liquid itself is a gorgeous pale gold with microflecks of light-reflecting pigments, and while they do shimmer under the light, they don't sparkle.

It has a lightweight feel when applied to the cheeks and blended into the skin but not so much to give it that unwanted "watery" feel. Even better, you can add a drop or more to any Drunk Elephant serum, oil or cream for that sheer, golden glow — creating that "ingredient smoothie" the brand loves to whip up.

"B-Goldi Bright Drops by Drunk Elephant are a game-changer! These brightening drops instantly give my skin a radiant glow and help to fade dark spots. The lightweight formula absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. I've noticed a visible improvement in my complexion since incorporating them into my skincare routine. Definitely worth the hype," someone wrote.

D-Bronzi VS.  B-Goldi

So what exactly makes B-Goldi different from D-Bronzi?

B-Goldi is a brightening serum first, and a pop of golden color second. B-Goldi occupies a cozy space between D-Bronzi and an opalescent highlighter. Much like its viral counterpart, it lends the skin warmth, but it also imparts more of an illuminating glow thanks to a mix of white gold and silver pigments.

The main difference between B-Goldi and D-Bronzi is its viscosity. B-Goldi has more of an intact feel without being heavy, while B-Bronzi can seem to seep along your skin before it's then blended out. Both have a wonderful "glow factor" feel, but B-Goldi seems to be a bit more versatile for providing an easily absorbable suppleness.

If you have discolorations from past breakouts or a region of your face that's more pore-heavy than most, it doesn't hurt to use the B-Goldi Bright Drops as a spot treatment.
