Kindle 2019 comes in black or white, and looks almost exactly like the previous model. It measures 4.5 by 6.3 by 0.3 inches, weighs 6.1 ounces, and has a 6-inch, 167ppi E Ink screen. The screen is higher-contrast than much earlier Kindle models. The big new addition for the Kindle 2019 is an adjustable frontlight,  so you can read in the dark without bothering anyone around.

In addition, The Kindle 2019  has wifi for syncing books, accessing the Kindle store and looking up information such as Wikipedia entries for unknown terms. It also has Bluetooth, designed for listening to audiobooks from Audible via wireless headphones or speakers. As with other Kindles, this works just fine, but the basic Kindle only comes with 8GB of storage – fine for text ebooks, but don’t expect to fit too many audiobooks on it at any one time.

Kindle 2019 is Amazon’s cheapest, most basic Kindle now. It  has a frontlight and a better screen, which makes it very nearly the new default ebook reader.

Kindle Kids Edition 2019 (Kindle 10th Generation)

Pros:

Front illumination makes for easy read;

Parental dashboard lets you monitor your child's reading.

Cons:

No real difference to a standard Kindle, but more expensive.

Kindle Kids Edition is basically a 10th-generation Kindle. Both are almost identical in terms of hardware and that means they’re going to perform much the same way. Although Kindle Kids Edition is $20 more than the regular model, it gives you an ad-free, kid-friendly experience with a year’s free subscription to Fire for Kids Unlimited, two years of insurance and a good quality case.

So if you’re buying a Kindle for your child,  The Amazon Kindle Kids Edition is a best choice.

Kindle Paperwhite 2018 (Kindle Paperwhite 4th Generation)

Pros:

  • Adds support for audiobooks;

  • Flush front screen with frontlight;

  • Waterproof.

Cons:

  • No page buttons;

  • Frontlight color not adjustable.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is the perfect mix of all the brand’s e-readers. Kindle Paperwhite 2018 is the fourth generation of the Paperwhite.  It's thinner, lighter, and more robust than the Kindle. Paperwhite 2018 has a 300 ppi glare-free display (compared to the Kindle's 167) and a flush front design, so no dust or sand will get caught in the ledge between the screen and the bezel.  Compare to Kindle Oasis, it’s far cheaper, yet still sports a waterproof design and Audible support.

In a word, Kindle Paperwhite 4 is the perfect package of all the best Kindle features for a great price. You won’t be disappointed.

Kindle Oasis 2019 (Kindle Oasis 3th Generation)

Pros:

  • 7" screen;

  • Waterproof;

  • Automatic rotating page orientation;

  • Page turn buttons

  • Audiobook support;

  • Adjustable warm light.

Cons:

  • High price.

Amazon's Kindle Oasis is a high-end e-reader that's now on its third edition. Kindle Oasis 2019 has the same aluminum body, an asymmetrical design, flush screen, and page turn buttons as the previous version. Page-turn buttons are simply better than just a touchscreen when reading. In addition, with 7 “screen and 300 ppi resolution, you can perfectly read and display images with great quality. It is also waterproof like Kindle Paperwhite and has automatic screen rotation for reading while holding it horizontally. The 25-LED front light is even across the whole page with auto-brightness or manual control.

There's no doubt that kindle Oasis 3 is perfect for reading lovers who need a versatile and comfortable device to read non-stop for hours. Definitely, the best Kindle in 2024.
