Celsius vs. Celsius Essentials vs. Celsius Heat vs Celsius On-the-Go: Differences and Reviews 2024

Celsius vs. Celsius Essentials vs. Celsius Heat vs Celsius On-the-Go: Differences and Reviews 2024

Who doesn’t love caffeine? Many of us grab a cup of coffee before a workout or an energy drink to boost our energy to get through the day. When you think of energy drinks, you probably think of brands like Red Bull, Monster, Ghost, and more. However, recently a more health-conscious brand, Celsius, has become one of the biggest energy drink brands in both online and offline stores. Made with a clinically proven formula of energy-boosting ingredients, 7 essential vitamins, and zero sugar, CELSIUS is designed to help people stay healthy, exceed their goals, and elevate their daily lives. Let’s take a look at its range of products that are worth buying!

Don’t worry, I know many of you have heard of Celsius Holdings, Inc., a global company with proprietary, clinically proven formulas.

Founded in 2004, the company is a pioneer in lifestyle fitness beverages, with its sub-brand CELSIUS®, which once had six beverage lines, each offering proprietary, functional, healthy energy formulas that are clinically proven to provide significant health benefits to users.

The lines included CELSIUS® Originals, CELSIUS HEAT™, CELSIUS® BCAA +Energy, CELSIUS® On-the-Go, CELSIUS ESSENTIALS,  and CELSIUS® Sweetened with Stevia.

We were initially attracted to CELSIUS® because it contains no sugar, no preservatives, no aspartame, no high fructose corn syrup, is non-GMO, and contains no artificial flavors or colors.

And because it quickly gained popularity online and on social platforms, it’s now available in a wide range of locations, including Target, CVS, Walmart, Amazon, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, 7-Eleven, Dick’s Sporting Goods, The Fresh Market, Sprouts, and other major regional retailers like HEB, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Harris Teeter, Shaw’s, and Food Lion.

Although CELSIUS has cut some product lines for various reasons, its classic series are still very popular. I once bought three boxes of CELSIUS drinks at Walmart and brought them home. In less than a week, my family and friends had finished them.

What are the popular product lines of CELSIUS energy drinks?

CELSIUS® products are a better-for-you, alternative to other high-sugar energy drinks on the market. Made with 7 Essential Vitamins, CELSIUS® has the perfect balance of flavor and energy that serves as an awesome pick-me-up for active lifestyles.

Currently, the most popular CELSIUS product lines are the following three:

  • CELSIUS & CELSIUS Vibe beverages

  • CELSIUS Essentials beverages

  • CELSIUS On-The-Go powders

What about Celsius energy drinks? Which type is right for me?

Celsius vs. Celsius Essentials vs. Celsius Heat vs Celsius On-the-Go: How are they different?

Quite simply, the difference between them lies mainly in the packaging format and caffeine content. Take a look at the list below.

Editor's review: Celsius vs. Celsius Essentials vs. Celsius Heat vs Celsius On-the-Go: Which one is best?

My number one choice is Celsius !

($19.99  (Pack of 12) FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)

Celsius has a low-calorie, sugar-free formula with 200 mg of caffeine per 12-ounce can, making it a top choice for those seeking an energy-boosting, fitness drink.

Celsius has a unique blend of natural ingredients like taurine, guarana extract, green tea extract, and caffeine from coffee beans, and I love that it’s a healthier choice without artificial additives.

Celsius excites my senses with flavors like orange, wild berry, grapefruit, and even coconut. Every sip delivers a burst of authentic flavor that leaves me feeling refreshed and energized.

While most brands are marketed as an energy drink that can be ideal for high-intensity workouts and physical activities, Celsius emphasizes its metabolic support, making it a popular choice for those focused on maintaining an active lifestyle and weight management.

CELSIUS® Originals vs CELSIUS HEAT™

Both Celsius and Celsius Heat are energy drinks designed to boost energy and focus, but they differ in a few key ways:

Caffeine Content:

Each serving of Celsius contains 200 mg of caffeine. This dose of caffeine can provide a moderate energy boost and enhance focus and alertness. On the other hand, Celsius Heat contains a higher caffeine content. Each serving of Celsius Heat contains 300 mg of caffeine. This higher caffeine dose is designed to provide a more intense burst of energy for improved performance during intense workouts or high-intensity physical activity.

Additional Amino Acids:

Celsius's trainer-grade CELSIUS HEAT™ contains 100 mg more caffeine than CELSIUS®, and 2,000 mg of L-citrulline.

When I work out, I do look forward to the help of amino acids as it helps the body convert fat into energy.

L-Carnitine helps reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness and muscle damage, especially after resistance training.

In addition to promoting the breakdown of fat into energy, L-carnitine also helps speed up metabolism and flush toxins out of cells.

Unfortunately, Celsius Heat has been discontinued due to having a much higher caffeine content than the original Celsius, but we can find a similar replacement line called CELSIUS ESSENTIALS.

1719816167707427.png

Similar to the comparison between CELSIUS® Originals and CELSIUS HEAT™, the main difference between CELSIUS® Originals and CELSIUS ESSENTIALS is that the latter contains more caffeine and additional amino acids.

CELSIUS ESSENTIALS High Performance Energy Drink contains the same MetaPlus blend as the original CELSIUS Energy Drink with added L-Theanine, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine and 270 mg of caffeine. The CELSIUS ESSENTIALS range is designed to optimise performance and give you a powerful energy boost to help you take on any challenge.

Caffeine Content:

Despite CELSIUS ESSENTIALS' potential to become a popular energy drink trend, when I tried the range, I felt energy fluctuate significantly.

I tried it three times, and when I had to work long hours, I would drink a caffeinated CELSIUS ESSENTIALS drink to get some much-needed energy. It seemed like a good idea... until I experienced a severe caffeine crash. The problem? Four hours after drinking it, I felt more tired and irritable than before.

Yes, consuming too much caffeine can cause energy to drop dramatically after the effects wear off, which is called a caffeine crash. This is because caffeine binds to adenosine receptors in the brain, blocking adenosine from making you sleepy. However, adenosine continues to accumulate while you're awake, so when your body metabolizes the caffeine, adenosine binds to the receptors again, making you feel even more tired than when you first consumed the caffeine. Caffeine crashes are more exhausting than regular fatigue because they occur so suddenly.

CELSIUS contains 200 mg of caffeine and CELSIUS ESSENTIALS contains 270 mg of caffeine, which is equivalent to about 3 cups of coffee, considering that a cup of regular coffee contains 90 mg of caffeine. Maybe coffee tolerant people will like it, but I can't get used to this dosage yet.

Additional Amino Acids:

Athletes may like the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS line because it contains key amino acids (L-Theanine, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine) to help speed recovery and reduce muscle fatigue, damage, and soreness.

The ingredient that most appeals to me about the CELSIUS ESSENTIALS line is L-Theanine. L-theanine is an amino acid found primarily in green and black teas and some mushrooms, and can also be taken as a dietary supplement. It has a calming effect on the body and can help reduce stress and relieve symptoms of anxiety and insomnia.

L-Isoleucine is essential for protein formation, food breakdown and energy production.

I love L-Leucine because it is essential for muscle repair. Taking L-Leucine after a workout increases my riding speed the next day and reduces overall fatigue.

The CELSIUS ESSENTIALS series looks pretty good and there is nothing wrong with the taste. If you can adapt to high-caffeine drinks and need to get a lot of work done or exercise for a long time, you can try it.
