The Hottest Keurig Coffee Makers and Their Honest Reviews

How do you know which one to choose? Look no further. Our reviews can help you find the best Keurig coffee maker for your needs. We reviewed Keurig's lineup, taking into account factors like price, brewing settings, features, and design.

1. Keurig K-Select: Best for simplicity lovers

1707225385928463.png

FREE$149.99with Keurig® Starter Kit$74.99$149.99 Site deal: $75.00 Off

The Keurig K-Select coffee maker is similar to the K-Classic but has more features. They cost nearly the same price, retailing for $149.99.

Keurig's coffee makers are often on sale, and you can sometimes find the K-Select at retailers like Keurig and Walmart for $79.99 to $129.99.

The K-Select is a slightly upgraded version of the K-Classic as far as features go.

While the K-Classic brews three sizes, the K-Select brews four sizes (6oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz) and has a larger 52-ounce water reservoir.

Perhaps the biggest difference is the K-Select's "Strong Brew" button, which creates a bolder flavor of K-Cup coffee via a longer brewing process.

What surprised us the most was the High Altitude setting, very rare in one cup coffee makers: not only it will help you enjoy a better tasting cup if you find yourself at a higher altitude, but it will also ensure that your coffee maker lasts longer.

The K-Select does not require much energy to operate. During 20 minutes of use, the machine used only 125 kWh.

It's also fairly quiet while brewing, with a maximum decibel reading of 67 decibels, although there is an unflattering sputtering sound at the end of the brew cycle.

The Keurig K-Select also comes in several different color choices.

In terms of size, the K-Select is a toned-down version of the K-Classic. However, it's still bulkier than some models and takes up counter space.

Overall, the K-Select is better than the K-Classic due to its additional features. It simply offers better value for money.

While it lacks a couple of features compared to a few other Keurig models such as the K-Elite (for example, the Iced button and the Temperature Control), the K-Select still brews coffee at lightning speeds.

The Keurig K-Select is best for coffee lovers who value speed and strength in their morning cup.

  ☕️  Pros

  • Affordable

  • Offers strong brew option

  • Brews 4 different cup sizes

  • A slightly larger 52 oz water reservoir

  • High Altitude settings

  • Brews coffee quickly

  • Numerous color options

  • Made of more advanced materials

  • Features quiet brewing technology

  ☕️  Cons

  • Mediocre 52 oz water reservoir

  • Doesn't have a Temp Control setting

  • Doesn't come with a water filter kit

  • Takes up counter space.

  • Not many advanced features

2. Keurig K-Classic: Best for Traditional Coffee Drinkers

Keurig® K-Classic® Coffee Maker

$74.99$149.99with Keurig® Starter Kit$79.99$149.99 Site deal: $70.00 Off

Keurig's original coffee maker is the K-Classic and it's a great option for families looking for an everyday coffee maker.

It’s made of plastic and looks like your typical coffee maker. Not ugly, not fancy.

Derived from the earliest model, the K-Classic still has some minor updates that set it apart from the older model. For example, an “Add Water” light indicates when more water is needed for the water reservoir to brew a cup of coffee. It also has a “Descale” indicator to show when the machine needs cleaning.

It also has three buttons to show if you’re brewing a 6-, 8-, or 10-ounce capacity.

It brews relatively fast and it has a large bin for used pods, plus it features a programmable auto-shutoff to save energy—a big help since no one remembers to shut the machine off.

It isn’t without drawbacks, however. It takes up considerable counter space and the reservoir is on the small side for its size.

It has s 48 oz. removable water reservoir that can fill six cups of coffee before it needs refilled.

It’s also louder than other Keurig coffee makers we tested and splashes coffee while brewing.

It also lacks strength control for your coffee.

The Keurig K-Classic retails for $149, but you can easily find it in the price range from $69 to $129, depending on the occasional sale, though we wouldn't recommend buying the K-Classic.

Though Keurig makes a few machines that provide options like temperature adjustments and brew strength, the K-Classic can’t craft as consistent a cup of coffee.

  ☕️  Pros

  • Energy-saving auto-shutoff

  • Super easy to use

  • Brews in under a minute

  • Can brew three different sizes

  • Compatible with a travel mug

  ☕️  Cons

  • Cannot fit a carafe

  • Largest brew-setting is 10-ounces

  • No iced setting

  • 48-ounce water reservoir is a bit small

  • Inconsistent temperatures

  • Does not yield a complex coffee flavor

  • Large, bulky design that takes up counter space

  • Loud, messy operation

  • Poor value for money

3. Keurig K-Supreme: Best for those who want to save space

Keurig® K-Supreme® Single Serve Coffee Maker

$84.99$169.99with Keurig® Starter Kit$99.99$169.99 Site deal: $70.00 Off

If you have several coffee drinkers in the house but lack counter space, Keurig’s K-Supreme is well worth a look.

The space-saving model has an impressive 66-ounce capacity despite its narrow footprint, plus the reservoir fits on the side or in back to suit your counter setup.

You can choose between multiple brew sizes, which will dispense 6, 8, 10, or 12 ounces of water.

Remember that when brewing with a K-Cup, you’re using the same amount of grounds for every brew. So the larger sizes will be more dilute. One way to counter that issue is to take advantage of the strong coffee option, accessible by pushing the Strong button. It brews more slowly, allowing for a fuller extraction and, thus, a bolder brew.

The Keurig K-Supreme offers a choice of three coffee brewing cycles : Regular, Strong, and Over Ice.

This method of Over Ice works, and even with the addition of milk, the resulting iced coffee is still delicious and full-flavored.

What's the biggest difference? The Keurig Supreme is the first Keurig model to feature the new MultiStream Technology. Instead of one hole in the top of the K-cup to pour hot water into, this coffee maker has five holes. The result is that the ground coffee in the K-Cup pods is brewed more evenly, resulting in improved extraction and a richer flavor and more aroma.

Keurig produces 4 models of the K-Supreme series: K-Supreme, K-Supreme Plus, K-Supreme Smart and K-Supreme Plus Smart.

The Keurig K-Supreme Plus costs about $50 more than the base model and has a few extra features to justify its cost.

K-Supreme Plus costs $200 and adds a fifth brew size (4 ounces), temperature control, strength control and a larger water reservoir. The K-Supreme Plus is the best Keurig coffee maker overall in our opinion.

The Keurig K-Supreme is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a compact single-serve K-Cup coffee maker that has sacrificed a few customization options in favor of a lower price tag.

  ☕️  Pros

  • Strong brew option

  • High-capacity for its size

  • MultiStream Technology improves coffee quality

  • Very easy to use and maintain

  • Dual position water reservoir

  • Brews four different cup sizes

  • Can adjust brew strength

  • The fast warming-up process makes back-to-back brewing happen

  ☕️  Cons

  • Lacks temperature control and has 1 strength control option

  • Longer brewing times

4. Keurig K-Elite: Best Overall Award for This Article

Keurig® K-Elite® Single Serve Coffee Maker

$94.99$189.99with Keurig® Starter Kit$118.99$189.99 Site deal: $71.00 Off

Keurig’s K-Elite Coffee Maker has everything a coffee lover could want and more, whether you prefer your beverages hot or iced.

The K-Elite has plenty of bells and whistles to put other Keurig models to shame.

It has the largest range of single-serve sizes, able to brew 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-ounce cups.

It has an option for iced coffee, which brews the coffee at a higher strength so it can be properly diluted with ice without losing flavor.

The hot water button provides you with hot water for soup, cocoa, tea, or oatmeal in demand, making this coffee maker a great addition to your home or kitchen office.

The K-Elite has a “strong” brew feature, which deeply saturates K-Cups with a slower brewing process in exchange for a bolder K-Cup flavor. This, in conjunction with the machine’s temperature adjustment option — which allows you to set temperatures between 187 and 192 degrees Fahrenheit — can provide a tasty cup of coffee.

Whether you like hot or iced coffee, this machine will be the right choice for you, as it allows you to brew multiple cup sizes.

This K-Elite has one of the largest water reservoirs of any Keurig—a whopping 75 ounces—which is enough to brew eight 8-ounce cups before you need to refill it.

Designed with Quiet Brew technology to minimize noise as each cup brews, this model is also one of the quietest.

The K-Elite doesn’t take much energy to operate, thankfully. During 25 minutes of use, the machine only used roughly 115 KWH, making it the best Keurig for low energy use behind the compact K-Mini. It’s also quiet when brewing, with the highest noise reading at 67dB. The K-Elite and the K-Select are the quietest Keurig machines we’ve tested.

The K-Elite costs $189.99, which is about $40 more than the standard K-Classic. However, it's frequently on sale at retailers like Amazon, Keurig, and Walmart, with prices hovering around $119.99-$149.99.

Keurig K-Elite is ideal for the busy professional who values a quick, versatile brew and doesn’t mind the extra cost. It’s also perfect for those who enjoy iced coffee at home.

  ☕️  Pros

  • Features Quiet Brew technology that minimizes noise

  • Has five cup size options, ranging from 4 to 12 ounces

  • Brews each cup in less than one minute

  • Strong brew option makes delicious coffee

  • Timer function helps plan brews ahead

  • Very versatile

  • A huge 72-ounce water tank

  • Brewing temperature control

  • Can brew hot and iced coffee

  • Contains a water filter; ensuring clean, great-tasting coffee

  ☕️  Cons

  • May not fit all budgets

  • May require large countertop space

  • Doesn’t have a built-in milk frother

  • The machine is prone to leaking
