MORE FROM
Top 10 Most Carbonated Soda
If there are any words that can be used to describe soda, it would undoubtedly be “bubbly” and “delicious.” Here's our review.
#1. 7 Up
($4.98 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back & Save $2)
7 Up or Seven Up is a lemon-lime flavored caffeine-free soft drink brand. The formula is owned by Keurig Dr Pepper in the United States, but the beverage is distributed by PepsiCo in the rest of the world.
7 Up is one of the oldest soda brands on the market, developed in 1929 by Charles Leiper Grigg.
The original formula contained ingredients never seen in 7 Up today, such as lithium citrate, a drug used to stabilize mood.
Stating that 7 Up was a mood booster was part of the soda’s marketing strategy until 1948, when the ingredient was removed.
7 Up is the ultimate soda. For people in European and American countries, most of them prefer 7 Up, owned by Pepsi-Cola, to Sprite, owned by Coca-Cola, because it is better than Sprite in all aspects. It has a crisper texture, more carbonation, and a refreshing lemon-lime flavor.
A liter of Sprite contains approximately 0.14 moles of carbon dioxide gas, while a liter of 7 Up contains 0.20 moles of carbon dioxide gas.
7 UP is a little bitter and fizzier, which suggests it is stronger of the two while Sprite is a little bland.
If the cans of both brands were opened for about 10 minutes, both 7 UP and Sprite would lie flat, but even in this state, 7 UP had a stronger flavor than Sprite, indicating a higher carbonation content than Sprite.
7 UP is available in 7 different flavours such as regular, diet, cherry, diet cherry, cherry, island fruit, and mixed berry. But Lemon-lime flavor is the most regular one.
#2. Fanta
($7.46 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
Fanta originated in Germany in 1940 as a local alternative to Coca-Cola. In 1955, Coca-Cola reintroduced Fanta Orange, which debuted in Italy before arriving in the United States in 1958.
There are over 200 flavors available worldwide; the recipe may vary in each country. Orange-flavored recipes outside the U.S. contain orange juice, while those in the U.S. do not.
Fanta comes in a variety of fruit flavors such as orange, grape, strawberry and pineapple. Each flavor has its own unique taste, and some are sweeter than others. For example, Orange Fanta is known for its sweet citrus flavor. Fanta's fruity flavors make it a popular choice for those who prefer sweeter, fruitier drinks.
Fanta has a higher carbonation content than most soft drinks, for example, and it has a higher carbonation content than Sprite. Fanta's extra fizz gives it a more fizzy texture, making it a popular choice for those who like effervescent drinks.
#3. Sprite
($6.68 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back & Save 10%)
The lemon-lime soft drink known today as Sprite was developed in West Germany in 1959 as Fanta Klare Zitrone ("Fanta Clear Lemon" in English) and introduced to the United States in 1961 as Sprite.
Sprite is Coca-Cola's answer to 7 UP, but we think it actually tastes smoother.
7 Up and Sprite seem to taste the same and it's hard to tell the difference. When you taste it carefully you can see that the Sprite has more of a lime flavor, while the 7UP has more of a fizz and less of a lime flavor.
While the Sprite tastes sweeter than 7 UP, the strong carbonation is also impressive!
Therefore, Sprite is easier and faster to swallow than 7 UP, which has a slightly bitter taste and is more difficult to swallow in large quantities.
However, it does have plenty of carbonation, which earns it a higher spot in our bubbly taste rankings.
Sprite comes in multiple flavors, including cranberry, cherry, grape, orange, tropical, ginger, and vanilla.
#4. Coca-Cola
($6.68 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back & Save 10%)
This soft drink was developed in 1886 by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton.
At the time of its introduction, the product contained cocaine from the coca leaf and caffeine from the kola nut, which together acted as a stimulant, hence the drink's name.
The cocaine was removed after the early 1900s.
Coca-Cola was originally marketed as a temperance drink and as a patent medicine. After that, Cola became popular around the world and was imitated by other manufacturers.
Coca-Cola is truly the king of all soft drinks. Coca-Cola is refreshing, better than Pepsi, and really fizzy.
It has a unique flavor that can't be replicated, and it also has a nice kick.
Coca-Cola has always delivered cola flavors that are rich, sweet, and refreshing, but not too strong. Although the sugar content is high, Coca-Cola allows it to balance out the other flavors instead of overpowering them.
Coca-Cola is delicious, refreshing, energizing, and supports all the good things in life.
#5. Dr Pepper
($7.28 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
The carbonated soft drink Dr. Pepper was launched in 1885, one year before Coca-Cola. It was created by pharmacist Charles Alderton.
Early advertisements for this soft drink made medical claims, stating that it "aids digestion and restores vim, vigor, and vitality."
Like Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper's formula is a trade secret.
It has a unique flavor that is difficult to describe, with hints of cherry, vanilla, and caramel. Dr. Pepper has a loyal following of fans who love its distinct taste.
How about Dr Pepper? How is it different from Sprite? Dr. Pepper brings a rich fizz to my taste buds, except that Dr. Pepper is slightly less carbonated than other sodas, which gives it a smoother texture. Sprite, on the other hand, is more carbonated, which gives it a more effervescent feel and sharper mouthfeel.
#6. Crush
($13.28, 24 pack FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
Crush is a carbonated soft drink brand owned and sold internationally by Keurig Dr Pepper, originally appearing as Orange Crush, an orange soda.
Crush competes with Coca-Cola's Fanta. It was created in 1911 by beverage and extract chemist Neil C. Ward.
Both Fanta and Crush are very popular carbonated drinks with huge fans around the world. Fanta is particularly popular in Europe, Africa and Latin America, while Crush is more popular in the United States and Canada.
In terms of carbonation, Fanta is better. This is because Fanta has fine and sharp small bubbles. Crush has larger bubbles, but the bubbles are not as sharp.
Secondly, Fanta is known for its richer, sweeter flavor, while Crush is slightly lighter.
This Crush soda is highly carbonated and tastes a little artificial aftertaste.
#7. Pepsi
($7.28 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. Originally created and developed in 1893 by Caleb Bradham and introduced as Brad's Drink, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then shortened to Pepsi in 1961. In 2022, it was the second most valuable soft drink brand worldwide, behind Coca-Cola.
Pepsi doesn't have the complex cola flavor that Coca-Cola does, but relies too heavily on overly sweet taste. Second, it's not so overtly carbonated that it tastes smooth and flat.
#8. Hal's New York seltzer
($24.99 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
When you're craving a fizzy drink, drink Hal's seltzer water. Hal's is one of the fizziest, bubbliest sparkling waters I've ever tried, and it doesn't become bland when you sip the drink.
Hal's has powerful carbonation properties. A first sip will most likely result in a satisfactory wince of pain.
It's a simple, clean seltzer that's richly carbonated—bubbles continued to bubble up enthusiastically from the bottom and sides of the bottle a few minutes after I opened it. All of Hal's seltzers are well-carbonated, which is one of the reasons why everyone loves this brand so much.
In addition to the original flavor, the lemon and lime flavors are also pretty good; when I took my first few sips, I even mistakenly thought I was drinking an ice-cold Sprite due to the strong carbonation and strong lemon aroma.
Black cherry is also an ideal seltzer flavor—its sweetness pairs perfectly with ample carbonation, but it’s tart enough to bring it all together.
#9. Polar Seltzer
($3.68 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
Polar is one of the best and most sparkling sparkling waters. Polar calibrates its carbonation with expert precision, and those bubbles are closer to a pinch than a tickle.
Polar is almost foamy. You will find them pleasant and energetic, as well as aggressive.
Others said that while they enjoyed the sparkling water, the intensity of the bubbles overpowered any flavor.
But it’s not just the bubbles that make Polar so special. Its flavors run the gamut from sweet to sour.
#10. Dang! Thats Good
($42.95 FROM Walmart - Get Up To 4% Cash Back)
Cream soda is a sweet soft drink. Dang! Red Cream soda is made by a family owned and operated business in Milwaukee, WI that has been involved in the beverage industry for 45 years.
A classic red cream soda that's heavy on the flavors of bubblegum and cotton candy with a hint of vanilla.
It carbonates well and bubbles up when poured into a glass. The bubbles release a very rich aroma. The flavor isn't overly sugary, but the texture is smooth and creamy, reminiscent of butterscotch candy.
Which soda contains the most bubbles?
It is Pepsi Strong 5.0GV.
Pepsi Strong 5.0GV has five times the carbonation of regular Pepsi and comes in a specially reinforced plastic bottle to help contain the super carbonated soda.
"5.0 GV" refers to the carbonation or "gas volume" of the soda. The regular one-liter bottle of Pepsi reportedly has a GV of 1.0, while the one has a GV of 5.0.
It comes in two varieties: the sugary one Pepsi Strong 5.0GV, and Pepsi Strong 5.0GV Zero.
It's the most carbonated drink in Pepsi's history, and it sounds like people will definitely want to try it.
Unfortunately, it's only sold in Japan, and people elsewhere have to settle for the normal amount of bubbles in soda.
Which is more carbonated, Pepsi or Coca-Cola?
Coca-Cola is more carbonated, so it has a little more fizz. Pepsi, on the other hand, is less carbonated and therefore slightly flatter.
What is the sugariest soda?
The soda with the most sugar is Mountain Dew. The brightly colored soft drink contains 65 grams of sugar in a 16.9-ounce bottle, which is more than 18 Chips Ahoy! cookies.
What's the best soda?
On the list of the best sodas, the top three are currently: Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, and Sprite. But personally, my favorite is Sprite!
As a winner, Sprite has my favorite lemon-lime flavor without any caffeine. It's light, crisp, refreshing, smooth in a way that'll make me want to take one more sip — then another, and another.
What is the best-selling soft drink?
The carbonated soft drinks (CSD) market is dominated by three players: The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo, and Keurig Dr Pepper.
Each company sells multiple brands, with Coca-Cola Company having a larger market share.
