The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Decyl-Glucoside and Coco-Glucoside: Help remove dirt and other impurities.
Details: The Glucoside Foaming Cleanser is a gel-like foaming cleanser that effectively helps remove dirt and environmental impurities. This formulation helps maintain the skin's moisture barrier, while also improving the look of skin clarity, skin texture, skin radiance, and suppleness with continued use. Formulated, and clinically proven, to be suitable for babies, Glucoside Foaming Cleanser respects the barrier of even the most delicate skin.
Packaging: Same tube packaging as the other Ordinary tubed products. However interestingly, this tube is white whereas they have usually been metallic.
Texture: The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser is a clear, fragrance-free gel. It has a thin, runny consistency that creates a light foam when water is added.
Best for: A gentle cleanser for Oilier skins.
Review: It feels very gentle on the skin and does a good job of removing makeup, dirt, and oil, and it doesn't leave any residue on the skin. After using it, the skin feels soft and hydrated, not dry or tight. This is an ideal morning cleanser since it is lightweight and non-irritating.
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Eye Serum
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38: Visibly reduces volume and depth of wrinkles around eyes.
- Glucosides: Improve the look of dark circles and puffiness.
- Niacinamide and Ash Bark Extract: Effectively tackle under-eye bags.
Details: The Multi-Peptide Eye Serum is a water-based formula designed to target the appearance of common signs of aging around the eye area. This serum utilizes multiple peptide technologies to help reduce the appearance of crow's feet and under eye wrinkles, eye bags, puffiness, and dark circles, leaving the eye area looking brighter, smoother and less puffy.
The peptide technologies found within this eye serum formula include Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38. This formula also contains a combination of niacinamide and fraxinus excelsior bark extract, as well as propyl gallate, gallyl glucoside, and epigallocatechin gallatyl glucoside.
Texture: The formula is water-based so a very little bit goes a long way. One pea-sized drop is more than enough to completely cover the areas around both the eyes. The serum is lightweight, and you could put immediately apply makeup on top of it without having to wait for it to settle into the skin.
Best for: It's well-tolerated by most skin types
Review: The Ordinary's new Multi-Peptide Eye Serum feels like quite a different formula than its peptide-powered predecessor for the face. In fact, it's packed with additional beneficial actives, including Niacinamide and Caffeine, that specifically target concerns of the eye area like dark circles and puffiness. If you have dry skin, you may want additional moisture to seal in all of the goodies in this eye serum. If so, look for an eye cream that doesn't contain strong actives that can interfere with the peptides in this serum.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Natural Moisturizing Factors (Prodew 600): Are components naturally found in skin that prevent water loss.
- Skin-Identical Lipids: Play an important role in skin's barrier function.
- Glycosphingolipids and Glycolipid (Ceramosides HP): Support skin barrier integrity and visibly improve skin quality.
Details: Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides is the most nourishing moisturizer, formulated with nearly four times more moisturizing emollients and two times more humectants than the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA. This rich and replenishing cream immediately boosts skin hydration by 68%, helps strengthen the skin barrier, and offers all-day hydration, making it ideal for dry skin.
It offers a triple-action approach to targeting dryness with the inclusion of skin-identical Natural Moisturizing Factors, PhytoCeramides and skin lipids. The inclusion of plant-derived PhytoCeramides help to improve the look of skin quality, for a fresher, more plumped appearance.
Texture: The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides has a richer, thicker texture than NMF + HA, The Ordinary's original moisturizer. So you only really need a pea-sized amount to moisturize your whole face and neck. Compared to the OG moisturizer, this one takes a little longer to massage in.
Best for: Suited for those with normal to dry skin or if your skin is dehydrated and flaky and needs extra nourishment.
Review: Like those more expensive products, it's incredible at repairing an ailing skin barrier, eradicating dryness, redness, and sensitivity. If you have dry skin and Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA doesn't provide enough hydration and moisture, The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + PhytoCeramides might be just what you are looking for. Even though it is formulated for all skin types, if you have oily skin, you most likely prefer Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.
The Ordinary Aloe 2% + NAG 2% Solution
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Aloe barbadensis Leaf Powder: Moisturizes.
- Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4: Supports the skin barrier and smooths the look of textural irregularities.
- N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG): Targets uneven skin tone.
Details: When it comes to post-acne care, solutions often involve a visit to a dermatologist and eye-watering price tags. Enter an alternative from champions of affordable, effective skin care, The Ordinary. The Aloe 2% + NAG 2% Solution supports skin after breakouts, gently targeting redness, uneven tone and texture.
This lightweight serum features soothing aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder to hydrate dry patches and take down lingering redness. Lesser known — but seriously effective — ingredient N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG), derived from bio-technology, effectively targets the appearance of uneven skin tone, tackling the marks breakouts leave behind. Peptides help to smooth away textural irregularities, while boosting the skin’s barrier for more resilient skin. An essential in your blemish first aid kit.
Texture: Since it's water-based, it has a nice, hydrating slip to it, and absorbs into the skin within seconds, leaving the face feeling refreshed and hydrated.
Best for: Perfect for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin types.
Review: While we may have several products that can target the look of uneven skin tone, as well as one formulation that can treat active acne, Aloe 2% + NAG 2% is the very first serum formulated to very specifically target the appearance of post-acne marks. It's an offense/defense combo that will keep your skincare routine well-rounded and streamlined. If you deal with those pesky acne scars that take forever to fade away, this serum could be ideal for your skin.
The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Glycolipids: Glycolipids are biosurfactants, a category of ingredients that work to cleanse the skin by lifting surface level impurities.
- Polyglyceryl-6 Dicaprate: Assists in the makeup removal alongside the glycolipids.
Details: The Glycolipid Cream Cleanser effectively cleanses the skin and removes makeup such as foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. This formulation uses a plant-derived glycolipid cleansing agent that cleanses the skin while respecting the skin barrier to maintain hydration. Additionally, this cleanser is formulated to be non-stripping to respect the skin's natural pH.
Packaging: Same tube packaging as the other Ordinary tubed products. However interestingly, this tube is white whereas they have usually been metallic.
Texture: The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser has a lightweight gel-cream texture. It feels very creamy on application and melts into the skin. The face wash becomes milky when mixed with water. It gets creamier the more it is massaged into your skin. It rinses away easily with lukewarm water and doesn't leave behind any residue.
Best for: Suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.
Review: The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser is a great option for those with dry skin who are looking for an effective yet gentle cleanser since it doesn't weaken your skin barrier. The cleanser is fragrance-free and notably doesn't contain many additional actives, which is another plus if you have sensitive skin. If you prefer a foaming cleanser, then this cleanser isn't the best choice for you. Go for The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser instead.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan
Highlighted Ingredients:
- Beta Glucan: Is a polysaccharide derived from reishi mushroom that supports the skin barrier.
- Natural Moisturizing Factors: Mimic water-loving, hydrating compounds found in skin's natural moisture barrier.
Details: Get all-day hydration with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan, a moisturiser suitable for use each day that can be applied to all skin types.
Providing skincare to deliver immediate and long-lasting hydration, this moisturiser is packed with natural moisturising factors, including amino acids and fatty acids, which work to keep the skin feeling hydrated all day even when there is insufficient moisture to be drawn naturally from the atmosphere. Also featuring ceramides and beta glucan, this moisturiser works to strengthen the skin barrier for all-day barrier maintenance. With a lightweight gel texture, it feels comfortable against the skin and is particular suited to combination and oily skin.
Texture: It´s a clear gel, but the minute the gel touched the skin, it starts to lose its gel-like consistency and become more creamy before sinking into the skin. As it sunk in, you'll find that there isn't any tackiness — only a soft, glossy feel. Your skin instantly had that hydrated, bounciness to it.
Best for: Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin and oily and combination skin.
Review: The Ordinary's new gel moisturiser is designed to be the last step in your skincare routine that works to lock in the benefits from the 'treat' step products whilst maintaining and supporting the skin barrier. It aslo plays well with other skincare products and provides a nice canvas for makeup. This moisturiser will go down really well for anyone looking for a lighter texture for the summer months, and specifically for combination and oily skin types. The Phytoceramides version is great for dry skin, and the original Natural Moisturizing Factors is the one for normal to combination skin.
