Review: RetrinAL 0.1 is a very lightweight, yellow-colored cream. It's thin and doesn't feel sticky. The most unusual thing about this product is it contains Retinal NOT Retinol. The company claims this ingredient is a direct precursor to retinoic acid– and therefore it is more potent than good old retinol. But the stronger the retinoid, the higher the risk for redness, flaking, and irritation. Thankfully, Avène anticipated the potential sensitivity and added hyaluronic acid and thermal spring water, which helps calm skin for "a win-win situation."

Review: Cicalfate is such a versatile product. You can use it to calm irritated skin, from scratches to eczema. Even dermatologists often use it on postoperative skin. Consistency is quite thick, almost like a paste, but very hydrating. Perfect for bedtime but def not during the day. Overall, it's definitely heavier and less recommended if you already have very oily skin.
