Dyson V11 Absolute vs. Animal vs. Outsize vs. Torque Drive vs. Fluffy: What are the Differences?
About Dyson V11 Vacuum
Dyson's V11 range already offers some substantial advancements over its predecessor, the Dyson Cyclone V10 range, including increased battery life, 20% more suction power - that’s an incredible 185AW (Air Watts) - and a handy rear-mounted LCD display that lets you cycle through modes and see exactly how much vacuuming time you have left. Now you also get a cleaning head that covers 25% more of the floor and a super-sized dust bin with a capacity 0f 1.9-liters.
The V11 is smarter and more efficient than its predecessors. The suction power automatically adjusts based on floor type—more power for carpets and less for smooth surfaces—and the remaining battery life is displayed on an LCD screen that faces the user. No more nasty surprises when the battery dies halfway through your living room.

Dyson V11 Absolute vs. Animal vs. Outsize vs. Torque Drive vs. Fluffy Overview
Dyson V11 Absolute Review
User reviews:4.7/5.0
The Dyson V11 absolute is an update on the V10 and came on to the market in March 2019 – so it’s still one of the newer models from the home appliances technology company.
The Dyson V11 Absolute is a fantastic cordless cleaner that can tackle both hard floors and carpets with ease. Even in Eco mode if offers powerful suction, enabling you to make the most of the 60-minute run-time. The LCD screen is easy to navigate, and is handy for letting you know if there’s a blockage and how much run-time is left.
One of Dyson’s main design aims with the V11 was to reduce the amount of time you need to connect it to the mains, while at the same time improving suction power. It has a more powerful motor than the V10 and a bigger battery, while integrated sensors lying within the machine’s new motorised head allow it to adapt to its surroundings and save energy.

Dyson V11 Animal Review
User reviews:4.7/5.0
The Dyson V11 Animal is a cordless stick/handheld vacuum. It has a great overall performance on most surface types, from bare floors to high-pile carpets. If you use it as a handheld vacuum with its lowest power setting, the battery provides over an hour of continuous use, great if you're vacuuming your car or another far-off place. However, it feels heavy in your hand when you use it as a stick vacuum. It's made of plastic that doesn't feel extremely sturdy and its dirt compartment is on the small side. Fortunately, it incurs virtually no recurring costs and is fairly easy to maintain.
Twice the suction of any cord-free vacuum.andsup1; Engineered for homes with pets. Cord-free cleaning, made easier. Intelligently optimizes suction and run time, to deep clean everywhere. With fade-free battery power and a battery-saving trigger. LED screen displays cleaning modes that lets you switch easily between, Eco, Auto, and Boost.
The Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) system automatically changes the motor speed between carpets and hard floors. For deep cleaning across floor types. The Dyson V11 Animal cord-free vacuum quickly transforms to a handheld for quick clean ups, spot cleaning and cleaning difficult places.

Should you buy the Dyson V11 Absolute ?
At $600, this Dyson machine isn't for everyone.Since it's wall-mounted, it's a great choice for apartment dwellers with limited space who are looking for a convenient grab-and-go cleaning solution.
Thanks to its exceptional pet hair cleaning performance, pet owners will appreciate the V11 Animal. It's also a smart solution if you mainly want to clean hardwood floors or furniture.
Dyson V11 Outsize Review
Dyson's latest cordless stick is large and in charge
User reviews:4.6/5.0
The V11 Outsize is one of the biggest, heaviest, and more powerful cordless vacuums (in terms of airflow) I’ve tested to date. It blows away the competition with cleaning performance and high airflow at both the wand and nozzle. This power translates to excellent dirt pick up – both surface and embedded and the only one so far with a 100% in all the surface debris tests on hard floor and carpet.
Aiming to prove that bigger is better, Dyson's V11 Outsize carries across all the technological advancements offered by its normal-sized V11 and V11 Absolute siblings, only with a much larger bin and a wider cleaning head to cover more ground in bigger households. That said, it's significantly heavier than the normal V11, and its higher price point may lead people to choose the regular V11 instead.
However, the biggest issue with the Outsize is the price and weight. The high price tag will give you pause, and the added weight can be tiring to use as a stick or handheld vacuum.

Dyson V11 Torque Drive Review
User reviews:4.5/5.0
The Dyson V11 Torque Drive is Dyson’s top-of-the-line cordless stick vacuum. It offers a 60 minute run time, 185 AW of suction power on Boost mode, clickable battery, and tons of cleaning tools. It was effectively perfect in our cleaning performance tests, scoring a 99% out of 100. Combined with the intelligent suction feature, the Dyson V11 is easily one of the best cordless stick vacuums ever built.
This vacuum is the newest cordless stick vacuum to the Dyson lineup. It offers many advanced features introduced with the Dyson V10 last year (see our review), but with some new additions. The V11 Torque Drive is roughly the same dimensions as the previous model, the V10 Absolute, but weighs in at 6.68 pounds, about one pound heavier. That added weight comes with an improved interface.
You're probably not used to the idea of a vacuum having an LCD screen, but it's totally a plus. The screen tells you, down to the second, how much cleaning time you have left. When the V11 is fully charged, that turns out to be a decent amount of time.

Should you buy the Dyson V11 Torque Drive ?
If you're in the market for the best cordless vacuum, this is the one to check out. For the money, you're getting features and performance that no other manufacturer can provide.
Reasons to choose the Dyson V11 Torque Drive:
Lighter weight: Even if the difference on paper isn’t big, the Torque Drive feels much lighter than the gargantuan Outsize.
Better handheld option: The lighter frame makes this option easier to use as a handheld.
Excellent for small to mid-sized homes: This is the better option if you live in a smaller space but still need a powerful carpet cleaning vacuum.
Great for embedded dirt: It picked up 99.97% of embedded sand in the middle setting – still better than most cordless vacuums in the max setting.

See the comprehensive Dyson V11 Absolute vs. Animal vs. Outsize vs. Torque Drive vs. Fluffy comparison chart below:
Similarities Between Dyson V11 Absolute, Animal, Outsize, Torque Drive And Fluffy
At a basic level, all versions of the Dyson V11 are really the same cordless vacuum cleaner. They have the same motor, design, battery, and canister – the only difference is the included floorheads.
Some features that are common to all versions of the V11 include:
Up to 60 minutes battery life with a 4.5 hour charge time. All versions of the V11 provide up to an hour of run-time, although this is only on the lowest power setting and without a motorised tool.
Three suction modes. The V11 has three suction modes: Eco, Medium/Auto, and Boost. While all versions of the V11 have three modes, only models with the High Torque floorhead can use the vacuum’s automatic suction adjustment system.
Handheld mode. All Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners can be used as a handheld by detaching the main tube, and the V11 is no exception. This makes all three versions of the V11 great for cleaning stairs and car interiors.
LCD screen. One of the stand-out features of the V11 is the LCD screen. This shows an estimate of the remaining battery life, depending on which tool and mode you’re using.
Redesigned bin alignment. Dyson models before the V10 had a bin that was at right angles to the vacuum’s suction tube. Newer vacs, including the V11, have a bin that’s aligned with the motor and cyclone, which maximises suction power.
Excellent filtration. If you suffer from allergies, then the Dyson V11 is one of the best cordless vacuums for retaining allergens.
Hygienic bin emptying. Unlike many cheaper cordless vacuums, the V11 has an internal collar to physically push out dirt, dust, and hair.
Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor. This is Dyson’s latest motor that can spin up to 125,000 RPM. It’s a powerful motor that’s a key reason for the V11’s excellent cleaning performance and strong suction power.
Mini motorised pet tool. All versions of the Dyson V11 include a mini motorised pet tool. This is brilliant for cleaning stairs, upholstery, and car interiors. All models also come with a dusting brush, combination floor nozzle, and crevice tool.
Difference Between Dyson V11 Absolute, Animal, Outsize, Torque Drive And Fluffy
Dyson V11 Animal vs. V11 Absolute
The Dyson V11 Absolute features an advanced LCD screen that displays run-time countdown and other metrics. The V11 Animal has a more basic LED screen that displays cleaning mode and battery life. However, it doesn’t come with a real-time countdown.
The V11 Animal works just as well as the V11 Absolute, but it doesn’t include a mini dusting brush. Apart from that, they are nearly identical. Both vacuum cleaners are capable of running for up to one hour and have the same weight and suction power. Plus, both models feature a clickable battery and three cleaning modes.
Dyson V11 Absolute vs. V11 Torque?
The only difference between the Dyson V11 Absolute and V11 Torque is that the former includes a soft roller brush. Apart from that, the V11 Torque Drive has all the same parts, features, and attachments as the Absolute version.
Dyson V11 Animal vs. V11 Torque
The Dyson V11 Torque Drive comes with an LCD screen that shows run-time countdown. The V11 Animal, on the other hand, features a LED screen and doesn’t have a countdown timer. This model has the same parts, features, and accessories as the V11 Torque, except for the mini dusting brush.
Dyson V11 Outsize vs. V11 Absolute
The most significant difference is that the Absolute+ comes with the laser slim fluffy attachment, similar to the V15 Detect that flashes a green light, amplifying dust and debris to make vacuuming more efficient.
Dyson V11 Animal vs. V11 Torque Drive vs. V11 Absolute: What’s the difference?
Dyson’s vacuum cleaner range isn’t always the easiest to get to grips with, and, as has been the case with the past few V series, there are three main variants to choose from: the Dyson V11 Animal, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and the Dyson V11 Absolute.
As with other Dyson cordless vacuums, it’s best to view these as separate packages based on the same motor unit. The only difference between them lies in the accessories they’re supplied with.
Summary of Key Differences
Here’s a quick summary of the Dyson V11 Absolute vs. Animal vs. Outsize vs. Torque Drive vs. Fluffy:
Dyson V11 Absolute . Most expensive option, but includes both High Torque floorhead (for all surfaces) and Soft Roller floorhead (great for hard floors.) Capable of automatically adjusting suction when in “Auto” mode and using the High Torque floorhead.
Dyson V11 Animal. Cheapest option, but comes with Dyson’s direct-drive cleaner head, not the new High Torque attachment. This is still an excellent floorhead, but is less powerful and isn’t capable of using the V11’s Dynamic Load Sensor for automatic suction adjustment. Instead, you just get a “Medium” mode rather than “Auto.”
Dyson V11 Outsize is a very good vacuum cleaner. But if you already have the V11, don’t buy it with the mistaken impression that you’re upgrading to the latest Dyson tech. Yes, its suction is improved but overall it’s a specific tool for a specific job: Dyson has engineered it to solve the problems that come with cleaning larger homes.
Dyson V11 Torque Drive. Middle option that only includes the High Torque floorhead (for all surfaces.) Also capable of automatically adjusting suction in “Auto” mode.
Dyson V11 Absolute vs. Animal vs. Outsize vs. Torque Drive vs. Fluffy: Which V11 Should You Buy?
The V11 is an excellent cordless vacuum cleaner. Regardless of which version you choose, the vacuum will provide powerful suction, a versatile design, and up to 60-minutes run-time.Which V11 vacuum is the right choice though?
If you want a lighter vacuum…
I would recommend the Dyson V11 Torque Drive or the V11 Animal. Both of these are smaller and lighter than the Outsize models and may be easier to maneuver as well.
If you want the best value…
I would recommend the Dyson V11 Animal. This vacuum offers the best value because it comes in at the lowest price and still has excellent performance. The biggest differences include the lack of (1) the soft dusting brush, (2) click-in battery, and (3) LCD screen.
If you want the best excellent vacuum…
While the V11 Animal is an excellent vacuum, the lack of High Torque floorhead makes it hard to recommend over the Torque Drive or Absolute. It just doesn’t meet the very high standards set by the other models in the V11 range.
If you want the longest run time…
We would recommend the Dyson V11 Outsize. With 2 click-in batteries, it’s easy to clean while the other battery charges. When it’s time to switch, you simply interchange the batteries and have a minimal interruption.
If you want quicker cleaning cycles…
We would recommend the V11 Outsize. Both of these use a cleaning head that is 25% wider than the head on the Torque Drive or Animal stick vacuums.
Dyson V11 Vacuums Maintenance
Overall maintenance for all the V11 vacuums is basically the same. The shortlist of items to keep an eye on include:
Recharge or replace the battery, as needed. The battery on all V11 models is designed to last the life of the vacuum. The battery can run for up to 60 minutes before needing to be recharged (or swapped out with an alternative battery). The batteries take approximately 4.5 hours to recharge.
Watch for maintenance alerts. Any pertinent maintenance alerts will show up directly on the LCD screen, making it easier to know when an issue needs to be addressed.
Check the brushroll for tangles or debris. Keeping the brushroll looking good is an important step to maintaining peak performance suction.
Empty the dust bin, as needed. Note: Since the dust bin on the Outsize models is larger, you won’t have to do this step as often.
Wash the filter, as needed. All V11 vacuums also have a washable HEPA filter. You can use cold water to rinse the filter as needed and allow it to set out for 24 hours to air dry.
FAQ
1.Is the Dyson V11 a good value?
While the price tag is not cheap by any means, it does offer exceptional performance and nice upgrades, including intelligent suction and the LCD screen at the back of the vacuum with handy notifications and performance details.
As a downside, the V11 does not include the soft roller head, and honestly, I can’t say exactly why. On previous models, I felt like the soft roller head is a nice addition and really helps to book performance on hardwood floors.

Featuring a lightweight design, click-in battery, and three power modes, the Dyson V11 Animal offers excellent value for the money. From a functional perspective, it works just as well as other more expensive versions.
