2.Network Coverage
Red Pocket
Red Pocket has the option to choose lines on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile network. This means no matter which one provides the best coverage in your area, you're covered. There is no 5G coverage with CDMA.
Red Pocket is very upfront with its disclaimers about quality: Actual coverage will vary based on network, location, device used, and other factors.Customers can choose the network that they want during the signup process.
GSMA = AT&T
GSMT = T-Mobile
CDMA = Verizon
The Red Pocket Mobile site has maps of each network’s coverage areas, though some are more precise than others. The GSMA and GSMT maps do a good job of letting you check your precise location, either by inputting your ZIP code or zooming in on a map. For CDMA, however, you have a map of the US that’s color-coded. No zooming in, no nothing. For anything more precise, you ask Red Pocket via live chat.
Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile uses T-Mobile’s network to provide coverage and data, and lucky for us, T-Mobile offers one of the best networks in the country. T-Mobile covers about 94% of the country.Chances are you’ll have coverage, but there are a few pockets where signal can get spotty—particularly in the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West region.
US Mobile
US Mobile customers get access to either Verizon or T-Mobile’s 5G and 4G LTE networks.Depending on your phone's compatibility and your local coverage, you'll be able to use the network that works best for you, but you will need to choose one or the other. In recent years, T-Mobile's network has done quite a bit to catch up to and even surpass other carriers in some areas, so most people should get great service on either network.
From its website, US Mobile has a tool where you can enter your current carrier, location or device to determine which network is best for you.
TracFone
TracFone also offers customers clear reception and fast data speeds through various high performing phone networks operated by Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.
According to their website, “TracFone has the largest digital area coverage in the US,” and “a national footprint covering 99% of the U.S. population.” Strong and clear coverage is one of the main reasons many are happy with their TracFone service.
When you sign up for Tracfone, you'll get service on one of those major networks, not all of them. It’s based on your device and location.
3.Plans and Pricing
Red Pocket
Red Pocket Mobile’s phone plans are synonymous with variety. The company really offers something for everyone. There are monthly plans, annual plans, multi-month discount plans, family plans, data-only plans, and even global data-only plans. Some plans are sold exclusively through online retailers like eBay and Amazon.Taxes and fees cost extra with each plan. There are no activation fees for single lines of service.
Monthly Plan
All plans includes:
Unlimited talk,text & data
100% risk-free guarantee
Free international calling worldwide
No overages
If you don’t need unlimited data, Red Pocket’s basic option is quite the bargain. For $10/month, you get 500 minutes, 500 texts, and 500MB of data.
Family Plan
Red Pocket’s family plans offer unlimited everything, with $30 for the first line and then $20 for each additional. Account holders can add up to 4 additional lines to their plan. The multi-line discount is applied starting on the 2nd month of service. There is a $10 setup fee charged per line. No other Red Pocket plans offer group discounts.
Threre are also yearly plans and data only plans, check here for more plan details.
Mint Mobile
Mint offers data plans featuring 4GB, 10GB, 15GB and unlimited buckets of data as low as $15 a month. All plans come with unlimited text and talk, so you will never have to pay anything extra for using those features. However, the difference in pricing between the plans comes down to how much data you plan on using each month. But there isn’t actually a monthly plan. You must buy plans for either three, six or 12 months at a time.
4GB | 10GB | 15GB | Unlimited | |
3 months | $15/mo | $20/mo | $25/mo | $30/mo |
6 months | $20/mo | $25/mo | $30/mo | $35/mo |
12 months | $15/mo | $20/mo | $35/mo | $30/mo |
All plans include:
Unlimited text and talk
Free calling to Mex & Can
Free mobile hotspot
Wifi call & text
Free 3-in-1 SIM card
5G high speed data
The longer the package, the lower the monthly rate. Your first three months are charged at the lowest rate for your plan, after which you can renew with any of the packages at the higher renewal rate. If you plan on staying with Mint for a long time, renewing at the 12-month rate will save you the most money—but you'll also be paying for all 12 months upfront.
Mint Mobile now also offer family plans starting at $15/mo per line(Minimum of 2 lines | Maximum of 5 lines).

US Mobile
US Mobile’s cell phone plans are a lot cheaper than the major networks. However, the service could do a better job of simplifying the process of choosing the best plan. For light data users, US Mobile offers unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data for $12 per month or you can get 5GB of data for $15 per month.
In contrast to the single line plan, US Mobile offers family plans as well. For beginners, the basic US Mobile family plan starts from $45/mo per line, $30/mo for two lines, an d $25/mo for three or more lines. All these plans come with unlimited texts, calls, and data allowance.
If you have three or more lines of Unlimited Premium, you’ll also be eligible to receive a free subscription to an audio, streaming or gaming service. Options include Audible, HBO Max, Netflix and PlayStation Plus.

TracFone
TracFone's no contract phone plans provide flexible options for users to keep their phone service active and useful to them. A basic Pay As You Go plan starts at $15 for 30 days. These basic plans work on both smartphones and non-smartphones.
Tracfone's most popular prepaid plans with carryover data start at $20 a month. For that price, you get unlimited talk, text and 1GB of 4G LTE data.
If you ever run out of high-speed data, you can always add more for $10 per GB. No unlimited data plan is offered.

4.Phone Options
Red Pocket
Red Pocket is primarily a bring your own phone plan provider but they do sell some phones.Red Pocket will simply provide you with a prepaid SIM card. You pop it into your cell phone and follow the provider's instructions. You need an unlocked phone (meaning your carrier has released it for use on another network). You can check that your phone is compatible with Red Pocket before you sign up and the rest is a breeze.
But in case you need another unit, it has an up-to-date selection of both iPhone and Android phones. An option to pay via monthly installments is available for iPhone, but not Android. Red Pocket also has a single HotSpot from Franklin Wireless on offer.
Mint Mobile
As a GSM, Mint Mobile allows you to use their service with most of the unlocked cellphones. However, the phone has to be compatible with their network and 5G-capable if you will be interested to work with the fifth-generation network. With Mint Mobile, you can get the latest iPhone, Galaxy, One, or Pixel.
The Mint Mobile BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) program means that you won’t spend tons of money on a Mint-compatible device, or buy a new phone case, or re-download all of your vacation photos from the cloud. You'll just switch out your old SIM card for a Mint SIM card.
US Mobile
Like most cell phone service providers, US Mobile gives you the option of buying a new phone or keeping your current device.Since the service has two network partners (Verizon and T-Mobile), it says nearly all unlocked phones with a SIM card slot will work.
TracFone
TracFone is not a premium cell phone carrier. They're a discount carrier. It means that the company sells discount phones rather than the latest (and priciest) Samsung and Apple models. For those who want a new phone, Tracfone sells a limited number of devices. When I checked the company's website, there were about 30 smartphones for sale. All of them were priced below $330.
Most people who switch to Tracfone will want to keep their existing smartphone. That's possible if you have a GSM unlocked device or one that's compatible with Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile.
The Verdict:Which is Best for You?
There is no total victory here.In truth, Red Pocket,Mint Mobile,US Mobile and TracFone are great prepaid services. They share a carrier network at some point, then have some of the best pricing on both the standard and unlimited plans.
Red Pocket Mobile is truly a commendable carrier and may have some great offers. They do have some decent data allotment and you can even tether wirelessly with a cable to your laptop or other phones. However, Red Pocket is my favorite pick and recommendation. It has everything you may need to enjoy a good phone service, including compatibility with all the major carriers, WiFi calling, and now free 5G access.
US Mobile wins when it comes to customization and giving customers the exact plan that they want.US Mobile has more plans (including a free plan) and its prices are generally lower. US Mobile is also the clear winner when it comes to family plans. It offers some great discounts on additional lines.
Mint Mobile's plans are a bit simpler with only four options. If you're able to pay for a few months of service upfront, Mint lets you save some money on your phone bill while still meeting your specific data needs. If you have great T-Mobile coverage, it's an amazing prepaid carrier to consider. Mint, on the other hand, doesn’t offer any family plan discounts.
TracFone offers up a variety of basic cell phone plans. There are pay as you go plans and unlimited talk and text plans with some data. There are even plans that you pay for by the year! TracFone's plans are great for those who don't use a ton of data and don't want to worry about being roped into an expensive and confusing contract.
