Brand History and Origin

Hermès is a high end French luxury brand that specializes in leather goods, bags, tableware and perfume. Hermes background story originally started out life as a harness and bridal workshop which was first established in the Grands Boulevards quarter of Paris by Thierry Hermes in 1837. It made a name for itself by supplying some of the most important noblemen in Europe at the time with high quality bridals and harnesses.

The bag was first designed by Catherine Chaillet in 1959 and was given the name in honour of her fifth child, Constance, having delivered the baby the same day that the first Constance left the Hermes production store. The Hermes Constance is a simple leather flap bag, secured by the signature H clasp on the front. The interior of the Hermes Constance bag is separated into two compartments. The smaller Hermes Constance 18 has two slip pockets on the front and rear side of the bag. The bigger Hermes Constance 24 has a slip pocket on the front and a zipped pocket at the rear.

Brand History and Origin
