The Razer Huntsman Elite is an outstanding full-size mechanical gaming keyboard that features a new kind of optical switch (Clicky Optical (Purple) or Linear Optical (Red) switches).  With optical actuation providing less physical contact, you get the durability of up to 100 million keystrokes which is especially useful for gamers who need tap keys repeatedly. The only clicky switch to actuate at a 1.5 mm actuation distance (30% shorter than other clicky mechanical switches). At only just 45 g of actuation force. A multi-function digital dial with three tactile media keys gives you instant access to everything from brightness to volume in seconds. All keys are macro-programmable and even the volume dial can be reassigned. Some customizations can be done on the board, but sadly, Razer Synapse 3 is needed to access full customization options and it's only available on Windows.

With 16.8 million colors, countless patterns, dynamic in-game lighting effects, you can experience full RGB customization and deeper immersion with the world’s largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices. Supporting a growing list of thousands of devices and hundreds of games & applications, take it to the next level with advanced features such as Chroma Studio, Visualizer, Connect, and Workshop. The keyboard comes with a magnetic ergonomic wrist rest that snaps to fit at the front of your keyboard, and is made of plush leatherette for extreme comfort. Also features Razer Chroma-enabled under low lighting to fully complement your keyboard. It is regrettable that Razer Huntsman Elite lacks a USB or audio passthrough and dedicated macro keys.

The full RGB backlighting is amazing for darkroom gaming, and it’s easily customizable within the Razer Synapse 3 software. The included wrist rest is the absolutely delicious icing on the cake and is the most comfortable wrist rest I've personally ever used with a keyboard. Its only glaring weaknesses are the keycaps and the insistence of Razer Synapse software. The customization software was only available on Windows.

The Razer BlackWidow V3 delivers the same premium experience as the company’s higher-end gaming keyboards at a much more affordable price. It's a wired variant of the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro. You can choose Razer Green Mechanical Switches or Razer Yellow Mechanical Switches. Green Mechanical Switches offer optimized actuation and reset points for better precision and performance when gaming. With no tactile bump and include sound dampeners to reduce its already low sound profile even further, Yellow Mechanical Switches provide a good typing experience.

Its completely clear design provides brighter RGB lighting to display the true brilliance of what Razer Chroma™ RGB can do—from deep lighting customizations to greater immersion as it dynamically reacts with over 150 integrated games. The sturdy wrist support perfectly aligns to the keyboard to relieve pressure on your wrists, so you feel less fatigued when gaming over long periods. This mechanical gaming keyboard is designed with grooves that allow you to neatly tuck in its cable and feed it out in any direction, so you can keep your desktop clear of clutter and mess. You can set macros to any key with the Razer Synapse 3 software. While it works with Linux and macOS, the customization software is available on Windows only.

Bottom Line

Razer Huntsman Elite vs. BlackWidow Elite vs. BlackWidow V3: Which of the Three Gaming Keyboard is The Best?

The Razer Huntsman Elite,  the Razer BlackWidow Elite and the Razer BlackWidow V3 are all incredible gaming keyboards that are very similar in terms of build, comfort, and extra features. The biggest difference is that the Razer Huntsman Elite is available with Razer Linear Optical switches, the Razer BlackWidow Elite is available with Razer tactile Orange, clicky Green, and linear Yellow switches, and  the Razer BlackWidow V3 is available tactile, clicky Green and linear Yellow switches. So in terms of the choice of switches, the Razer BlackWidow Elite is more abundant.

In addition, the Razer BlackWidow Elite has a USB passthrough, and the wrist rest is also more comfortable. So if you have to choose between these three, I will recommend the Razer BlackWidow Elite.
