There's two types of Sam's Club memberships: Sam's Club and Sam's Plus. The Plus membership costs $100 per year whereas the Club membership will cost you $45.

The Comparison Between Club Membership and Plus Membership

Sam's Club membership is the basic membership that allows you to make purchases inside of Sam's Club locations. Sam's Plus is a higher form of membership that grants access to Sam's Club and comes with access to additional perks including:

1. $100 for an annual membership ($110 starting 10/17/2024) that includes one card for the primary account holder and a free, complimentary card for another member of your household.

2. Add on up to 16 club-level members at a reduced rate of $40 each ($45 starting 10/17/2024).

• Add on members are issued a club membership card; only primary and complimentary cardholders are eligible for the plus benefits.

• If an Add-on member is interested in upgrading to plus, they must create a new account.

3. Free shipping on most online items for primary and household/complimentary cardholders.

4. Free Curbside Pickup, order online and pick up at the club.

5. Extra Optical and Pharmacy discounts: 

• Buy a complete pair of prescription eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses (frames and lenses) at regular price and receive 20% off the purchase. Valid prescription required. Purchases must be made on same transaction. 

• Offer does not apply if you use vision insurance of any kind including Medicaid or Medicare.

• No limit.

6. Plus Rewards—Get 2% back on qualifying purchases.

7. To add or update your business info, this can be done in the app, online account or by visiting the Membership Desk of any club.
