The Sonicare DiamondClean from Phillips is their range-topping toothbrush available to purchase today. It is often considered the Lamborghini of electric powered brushes. 

The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean uses a sonic movement to clean your teeth. This is where the bristles of the brush rapidly sweep backward and forward to break up the plaque biofilm. It promises to give you superior plaque removal; to whiten teeth a shade in one week; to improve gum well-being in two; and of course, to polish teeth. Plus, its extra gentle mode works for sensitive areas. The quiet vibrations range from slightly ticklish to firm but not abrasive, and the sleek design with charging glass looks modern.

There are 5 different brushing modes.

1. Clean - The standard mode and is identical to the brushing mode found on all Sonicare models capable of brushing at 31,000 brush strokes/minute. Lasts two-minute duration.

2. White - Alternates between the standard and pulsing vibrations. 2 minutes and 30 seconds duration.

3. Polish - A higher powered clean designed to remove stubborn plaque build up on the front of teeth. 1-minute duration.

4. Gum Care - 2 minutes of standard cleaning then 1 minute of slightly weaker vibration to massage gums for a total of 3 minutes.

5. Sensitive - A gentle yet effective clean for those of you with sensitive teeth or gums. 2-minute duration.

Like the majority of Sonicare models, this one comes with a powerful Lithium-Ion battery. It takes around 16 hours to fully charge, and then it can be used for 14 days or so. Depending on your personal usage habits. 

This Sonicare model comes in 5 different colors: white, black, pink ,rose gold and amethyst. Before choosing a colour, remember that when the most common brush head replacements are white. 2 Minute Quad Pacer Timer

An essential feature for all-electric toothbrushes and thankfully the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean has one. Brushing twice a day for 2 minutes is one of the keys to a healthy mouth so having a timer to let you know when two minutes up is essential. The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean does this by completely turning off the brush after two minutes. It also indicates at 30-second intervals to let you know when to change are of your mouth. This is a very handy feature. The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean is surprisingly quiet for an electric toothbrush and only has a slight middle C hum when in operation. 

Premium Glass charger and USB travel charger

In order to charge your toothbrush, you just need to drop it into the glass. It is wireless charging. However, the glass charger itself has a conduction base. This means that the glass has to be placed on top of the base first. Electricity does have to come from somewhere. Although this is not the only way to charge the toothbrush. There is a USB mini-B socket which will allow for it to be charged whilst inside it.

How to Use Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Sonic Electric Toothbrush?

There is only one button the handle. This is the on/off button which is ergonomic however not backlit. It is easy to press with your thumb. Pressing the on/off button multiple times allows you to change cleaning modes. 

Dentists recommend that you brush your teeth for a minimum of two minutes. But brushing your teeth is boring and while the time may feel like it drags on, a sad fact is that many of us do not come close to the recommended two minutes of brushing.

The QuadPacer is a built in timer that causes the DiamondClean to momentarily pause each time 30 seconds has past. If you split your mouth into quadrants (quarters) and spend 30 seconds brushing each then you will have effectively brushed your entire mouth for the recommended 2 minutes.

Brushing routine is as follows:

Brush left half of the top teeth for 30 seconds

Brush right half of top teeth for 30 seconds

Brush left half of the bottom teeth for 30 seconds

Brush right half of bottom teeth for 30 seconds

By focusing on a small section of your mouth for 30 seconds you can really give each section a really good clean before the QuadPacer alerts you to move on to the next.
