Oregon Chai is one of the biggest chai brewers in the US. In 1991, brand founder headed to the Himalayas, where she was introduced to the delicious taste of rich, creamy, spiced chai tea. Wanting to bring that same great taste to the United States, she spent three years perfecting her own recipe and dubbed it Oregon Chai. For over 25 years, their chai tea has been crafted with clove, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger and black tea for the warm, spiced chai flavor customers love.

Now the company is owned by Kerry Foods, Inc., yet great attention has been given to maintain the integrity of the original chai products. Most Oregon Chai concentrates are over 90% organic and carry the USDA Organic seal. Sugar-Free Original, made with the sweetener Splenda (sucralose), is the only concentrate that is not all natural and organic.

  • Tazo

One of the most popular specialty brands of tea, Tazo Tea is an American tea company that established in Portland, Oregon in 1994. Tazo Tea recipes originated through a mix of historical recipes and long-held traditions. The word Tazo has many meanings in different languages. While Tazo means "river of life" in Romany, it also means "fresh" in many different dialects of Hindi. The producers of Tazo Tea say that many of the recipes for Tazo Tea were based on formulas inscribed on the Tazo Stone, an ancient stone that was unearthed due to an earthquake near the Red Sea in 1987. There are claims that ancient civilizations such as Babylonians and Greeks used these age-old formulas, often as a rejuvenating elixir since they were thought to have magical properties.

Tazo was created for one purpose: to encourage a reincarnation of tea and re-introduce the general public to the joy of the tea experience. A Starbucks brand since 1999, Tazo Tea stands for an exotic offering of teas with imaginative and innovative flavors. Tazo uses only high quality natural ingredients, yielding a wide selection of teas that are bold and exotically flavorful. A testament to Tazo's quality standards, Tazo Tea uses 30% to 40% more tea per filter bag than other brands. No "dust" (tiny tea leaf particles) is incorporated into its filter bags - just broken tea leaf pieces and fannings (the second to smallest tea leaf size).

Tazo Tea is made in several varieties within three general categories of tea: black tea, green tea and non-tea herbal infusions, in addition to decaffeinated South African Rooibos tea. Tazo has a goal to create subtle and intense teas through using irregular ingredients such as ginger, lemongrass, black pepper, blackberry leaves and dried hibiscus flowers. All Tazo Teas are certified Kosher and Pareve by KSA, and most Tazo Teas are gluten-free. Tazo decaffeinates their teas by using highly pressured carbon dioxide which does not leave a chemical residue and minimally affects the flavor and beneficial compounds in the tea.

Teavana Corporation was an American tea company that manufactured and distributed various tea products. The company had a worldwide presence. It had Teavana stores located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Middle East.

Teavana (initially launched as Elephant Tea Co.) was founded by Andrew Mack and his wife, Nancy Mack in Atlanta, Georgia in 1997. Inspired by the various tranquil tearooms they had visited overseas, Mack and his wife opened a 700-square-foot store in Phipps Plaza, a mall in Atlanta.

The Teavana store sold tea that could be consumed on the go; as well as upscale tea products that could be used to brew tea at home. The store sold tea in various flavours including white, green, oolong, black, etc.

The store offered these tea flavours in various formats such as loose leaf tea, tea sachets, pre-filled tea tines, or brewed tea. The shop also sold products related to teaware such as stove-top kettles, milk frothers, cast iron Tetsubin teapots, Japanese porcelain teapots, etc.
