Chanel Gabrielle Perfume Real vs. Fake Guide 2024: How To Tell Original From Fake?

Chanel Gabrielle Perfume Real vs. Fake Guide 2024: How To Tell Original From Fake?

    • When it was released back in 2017, Gabrielle was received with lots of expectation. Being Chanel’s first pillar fragrance release in years, the new Eau de Parfum developed by in-house perfumer Olivier Polge was expected to be impactful. The result is a modern scent that has a dominant heart of white florals (jasmine, ylang-ylang, tuberose, orange blossoms). The listed top notes include mandarin, black currant and grapefruit, but I only picked up grapefruit from those. The floral heart is fresh and contemporary, albeit not particularly original, and eventually makes way for a more traditional base of sandalwood and musk notes. Gabrielle is cheerful yet classy, and not particularly unique, yet effortless to wear. However, with the popularity of this fragrance, there are also many fake versions of this product available in the market. And it can be challenging to differentiate between a real and fake Gabrielle Eau de Parfum. Therefore, it’s imperative to understand the key differences between the two to ensure that the money spent on this fragrance is worth it.

Top Notes: Olivier Polge. Top notes are Grapefruit, Mandarin Orange, Black Currant

Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Tuberose, Lily-of-the-Valley, Pear, Pink Pepper

Base Note: Musk, Sandalwood, Cashmeran, Orris

Gabrielle is a well-blended but relatively simple white floral scent. It has a grapefruit-centric opening, and a fresh, bright (and also lovely) heart accord of 4 flowers: orange blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang & tuberose; all so smoothly blended in a very Chanel way that it's hard to pick apart one or the other. A neutral, muted creamy base closes off the fragrance, that makes its entire presentation from start to finish with lightness and grace, and little to none unexpected changes.

If you expect to find an earth-shattering work of art of a perfume, Gabrielle is probably going to disappoint you. It's not super complex, or revolutionary. But if you can appreciate it for what it is, then it's a very pleasurable, well-executed scent.

  • Conclusion

It is important to remember that when purchasing Chanel Gabrielle Eau De Parfum you should be wary of counterfeit products. These fake perfumes are not only a health hazard but also mean a loss of investment. To ensure authenticity, consumers must purchase from authorized dealers and reputable stores. Therefore, it is important to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid falling victim to the fake market.
