Evian is a medium-mineral still spring water from France. The source is a spring in the french town of Évian-les-Bains where water that originally fell as snow in the French Alps emerges after 15 years of filtering through rock layers.

The source was originally found in 1789 by a local French aristocrat by the name of Marquis de Lessert who enjoyed drinking from the spring while out walking. Perrier is a naturally sparkling mineral water sourced from a spring in Vergèze, France. Originally called Les Bouillens, the spring has been used as a spa resort since Roman times. The basin supplying the Volvic spring source is located in the Regional Park of the Old Auvergne Volcanoes, a volcanic region that has been dormant for 10,000 years.
