M&Ms and Skittles are two popular candies, and while both candies are bite-sized and come in bright and fun colors, they have significant differences in flavor, texture, and ingredients.

#1. Candy Type:

M&M's are chocolate candies with a candy shell and each chocolate candy has a white lowercase "M" printed on one side.

Skittles, on the other hand, are fruity, chewy candies with a hard candy shell. Skittles consist of a hard candy shell engraved with the letter "S," similar to M&M chocolate candies with the letter "M."

If you're a chocolate lover, you'll love M&M's. If you don’t want such a luxurious candy, then refreshing fruity Skittles should be your choice.

#2. Candy texture:

M&Ms have a crunchy texture thanks to their chocolate filling, while Skittles offer a chewier texture.

This difference in texture affects the overall eating experience, as M&Ms offer a satisfying crunch and chocolatey smoothness, while Skittles provide a long-lasting chew and bursts of fruity flavor.

When I'm craving something sweet, I reach for the silky chocolate beans. And when I was cooking and listening to music, I always passed the time with Skittles.

When you eat Skittles, you'll notice they are chewier than chocolate beans. When you eat M&Ms, they take less time to chew and are not a sticky substance like Skittles.

#3. Candy flavor:

M&Ms and Skittles also have completely different flavor profiles.

M&Ms come in a variety of flavors, including milk chocolate, peanut, peanut butter, crispy, etc., attracting chocolate lovers with different preferences.

Skittles offers a variety of fruit flavors such as strawberry, lemon, green apple, orange, grape, etc., bringing a rich and sweet taste. I especially like the sour taste, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This flavor differentiation caters to different taste preferences, with M&M's focusing on chocolate lovers and Skittles appealing to those who enjoy fruity candies.

#3. Candy appearance:

Each candy is easily distinguishable by its appearance.

When holding a Skittle in one hand and an M&M in the other, you can easily tell the difference by looking for the white "S" and "M" on each candy.

When handling the candy, M&Ms have a hard shell that makes them difficult to crush with your fingers.

Skittles, on the other hand, can be easily crushed into smaller sizes using just two fingers.

#4. Candy Ingredients:

If you don't want a candy that's too sweet, you might not like Skittles. Because each 28-gram serving of Skittles contains 21 grams of added sugar. It's very high in sugar.

M&M's contain relatively little sugar, with 18 grams of added sugar per 28-gram serving.

Ingredients-wise, M&M's are primarily made from chocolate, which contains cocoa solids, cocoa butter, sugar, milk solids, and artificial colors for the candy shell.

Skittles, on the other hand, are made with sugar, corn syrup, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, fruit juice, citric acid, and natural and artificial flavors for the chewy center and hard shell.

So which one do you prefer?

#5. Final verdict:

In summary, while M&Ms and Skittles are both holiday candies that many people love, they differ significantly in type, flavor, texture, appearance, and ingredients.

But if you could only eat one of them, which one would you choose? Skittles are fruity and M&Ms are chocolatey.

Some people like to eat Skittles, and some people like M&Ms. It all depends on your own preference.

Personally, I would buy and stock up on both of these delicious candies.

I love the smooth chocolate from M&M's, it satisfies my sweet tooth.

And M&M's are effortless to eat and easily melt in your mouth.

This is a moderately sweet candy, as the bitter taste and aroma of the chocolate easily offset the sweet shell. Yes, the women in our family can't get enough of M&M's.

While M&M's offer a crunchy chocolate experience in a variety of flavors, Skittles offer chewy fruity flavors and a rainbow of flavors.

But I still stock up on Skittles because the men in my family love them.

Skittles sour candies in particular are filled with classic flavors including sour strawberry, sour lemon, sour orange, sour grape and sour lemon.

The fruity flavor is very strong, you won’t finish it immediately when you put it in your mouth, and it is chewy and interesting.

The similarities between M&Ms and Skittles have been noted through the years. The appearance and colors of the candy are very similar, but while M&Ms have a chocolate center, Skittles have a fruity one.

In other words, if you just prefer fruity flavors, it's impossible to consider M&M's. So besides Skittles, what other candy can you consider?

At this time, many people will be concerned about the difference between Giggles and Skittles.

Skittles - The chewy candies we are familiar with today were first introduced in 1974.

Statistics show that Skittles, a fruity candy with a candy shell, are the most popular of all candies in U.S. movie theaters.

This statement is justified as it has annual sales of over $34 million in the film industry. This number shows that Skittles is the first choice for movie fans to buy candy snacks in theaters, and its sales volume is better than other candy brands.

But in recent years, there is another similar candy that has quickly become popular on TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. It is Giggles.

Giggles vs. Skittles: How to choose?

#1. Candy Ingredients:

Perhaps the biggest difference between Skittles and Giggles is their ingredient list.

Ingredients

Giggles organic cane sugar, organic rice syrup, organic palm oil, citric acid, organic flavors, turmeric (color), sodium citrate, organic sunflower lecithin, malic acid, (radish, sweet potato, carrot, blackcurrant) color, organic carnauba wax, spirulina (color), pectin.
Skittles Sugar , Corn Syrup , Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil ; Less Than 2% Of : Citric Acid , Tapioca Dextrin , Modified Corn Starch , Natural Flavors , Artificial Flavors , Colors ( Red 40 Lake , Titanium Dioxide , Red 40 , Yellow 5 Lake , Yellow 5 , Yellow 6 Lake , Yellow 6 , Blue 2 Lake , Blue 1 , Blue 1 Lake ) , Sodium Citrate , Carnauba Wax .

Giggles positions itself as the new, healthier version of Skittles from the company YumEarth.

Giggles contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial dyes. Therefore, these candies are healthier than most candies on the market.

The difference between Giggles and Skittles is that they don't come with as much baggage. These chewy little candies are organic, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO.

These candies are also made with simple ingredients like cane sugar, organic rice syrup, and organic flavors.

People also look to Giggles because it is free of peanuts, gluten, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, soy and sesame.

Since 2007, YumEarth has been committed to providing safer, hypoallergenic, delicious snacks you can confidently give to family and share with friends.

#2. Candy texture:

Although Giggles and Skittles both have a nice chewy texture, if you eat them together, you'll find that Skittles are chewier and Giggles are softer.

#3. Candy flavor:

Both Skittles and Giggles come in 5 colors, which means 5 fruit flavors.

Because they are different from M&M's which all come in the same flavor. Each color of this fruity candy offers a different taste experience.

YumEarth Giggles come in 5 wonderful flavors: Green Apple, Lemon, Orange, Strawberry and Grape. Skittles also comes in 5 flavors: LIME, Lemon, Orange, Strawberry and Grape.

So their color system is almost the same, except that the green Giggles are green apple and the green Skittles are lime.

If you put these two brands of candy in your mouth, you might not feel the difference the first time. But the second time you taste it, you may immediately realize that the fruity flavor of Skittles is very strong. For example, the purple one has a strong grape smell.

If you're used to Skittles, you may not be happy with the flavor of Giggles. Skittles has more flavor, whereas the flavor in Giggles is more subtle, it's very bland.

On the other hand, the subtle fruit flavors in Giggles are more authentic, that is, real fruit flavors rather than fruit flavors with a hint of artificial aftertaste, thanks to the organic ingredients.

#4. Candy appearance:

In appearance, Skittles remain consistent, round and full in shape, and very bright in color. It looks like the industrialization of big brands.

Giggles are less brightly colored. The shape is also irregular, with different sizes, and some candy particles are uneven. It looks like handmade candy.

Each Skittles candy has an "s" printed on it. Maybe Giggles should put a "g" on each candy to show off their own brand.

#5. Final verdict:

If you are allergic to some foods, you can try Giggles.

If you need to buy a lot of candy and want to save money, you can opt for Skittles.

Although the trend towards organic food is growing rapidly, I regret that I am not a member of a very wealthy family. I can buy organic fruit, but I'm not willing to spend unnecessary money on organic fruit-flavored candy.

When it comes to candies, nothing is very healthy as they all contain a lot of sugar, which is often not linked to health and brings some risks of high blood pressure, obesity and acne.

But eating snacks and sweets can bring a sense of joy to life. So I would choose Skittles.

Skittles have a slightly hard coating, are chewy and have a rich, fruity flavor.

But Giggles does not have that. Its outer skin is not so hard and it is soft to chew.

Giggles don't have a satisfying fruity taste, and the taste is very subtle and hardly satisfies your appetite.
