Rockland Luggage Review
History and Origin
Rockland Luggage is a brand that has been in the luggage and travel industry for over 20 years providing stylish and durable luggage to travelers all around the world. This family-owned and operated company was founded in 1995 by Chaim Goldman and is based in Brooklyn, New York. The founder’s mission was to create affordable, reliable luggage for the masses, and that mission still holds true today. The company started small, but with a dedication to customer satisfaction and quality products, they quickly gained a loyal customer base.
Recognized for its graphic and colorful designs, Rockland has prided itself on creating products influenced by current trends in design and fashion. It hangs its hat on style; once again, you’ll likely notice Rockland luggage for its bright colors or unique patterns. Over the past two decades, Rockland Luggage has expanded its product line to include many other travel items such as garment bags, backpacks, duffel bags, and more. From carry-ons to checked bags, Rockland has a vast selection of products that cater to both leisure and business travelers.
Price
Rockland is by far the cheapest luggage brand I have reviewed. It's even cheaper than the brands in the affordable range! You are able to purchase them for less than $50 a piece. If you choose luggage sets category, a lower end luggage set (4 pieces) cost $100 which turns out to be just a little $25 per piece.
Designs
Rockland offers a vast array of luggage, including hardside cases, softside cases, luggage sets, carry ons, rolling backpacks, travel duffels, rolling duffels, cosmetic bags, and kids' backpacks and more. Rockland luggage comes in a variety of colors and patterns to suit different preferences and styles. With a focus on head-turning designs and colors, The bright patterns and eye-catching colors make the luggage easy to spot on baggage carousels. In fact, I have never seen so many patterns and colors by a single luggage brand! These designs are especially popular with younger travelers or those looking for a more playful look. Of course, Rockland also offers more traditional options for travelers who prefer a classic look.
Rockland luggage typically has organized interiors with various pockets and compartments to keep belongings in place and easily accessible. Some Rockland luggage models come with TSA-approved locks, ensuring that belongings are secure and safe during travel. Plus, most Rockland luggage features a telescoping handle that is adjustable to different heights for comfortable handling. And the majority of Rockland luggage comes equipped with smooth-rolling wheels that make it easy to maneuver through airports and other travel settings. You can find expandable zippers on most of their suitcases. Expandable bags allow a 25% increase in capacity when needed.
Sizes
Rockland luggage offers a wide variety of sizes to meet the needs of every traveler: Cabin luggage (16″ x 10″ x 9″), Carry-on luggage (20″ x 13″ x 10″), Medium luggage (24″ x 16″ x 10″), Large luggage (28″ x 18″ x 12″), Extra Large luggage (32″ x 20″ x 13″) .The most common size is 24 inches, which is a standard size for check-in luggage. Whether you need a small carry-on for a weekend getaway or a large checked bag for an extended trip, Rockland has a luggage option for you.
Material & Durability
Rockland hard side luggage is made of ABS material instead of polycarbonate (which is more flexible and has a higher impact resistance). Because of cheaper material, this could be the reason why Rockland is able to offer customers a cheaper price range for their hard side luggage. Having said that, Rockland does offer luggage that is made with polycarbonate or a mixture of polycarbonate & ABS. If you are somebody who travels more frequently, you may want to consider getting that luggage made by polycarbonate as they are more durable. All in all, considering the price point, Rockland offers decent quality and durability for the money.
But its durability still underperforms when compared to other brands like Samsonite, American Tourister, etc. Moreover, some users have reported issues with the spinner wheels getting stuck or failing to turn properly. While this doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem, it’s something to keep in mind when considering Rockland luggage. Other users says that there is cracks in hardshell luggage surface after a few uses and the handle is hard to retract.
Warranty
Rockland Luggage guarantees their products to be free from defects in material and workmanship for five years from the date of purchase. If your luggage has any issues within that time, they will replace the defective products at no cost to you. This warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, mishandling, or the airline’s rough handling. But, claiming the warranty seems to be quite a hassle according to feedbacks from customers. You will need to fill up a claim form, provide proof of receipt, and luggage warranty tag.In my opinion, claiming a warranty may not be that worthwhile. You will have to pay a $40 USD evaluation fee plus shipping cost. However, the evaluation fee does not guarantee that your luggage will be repaired. In most cases, it’s cheaper to buy a new suitcase instead.

Coolife Luggage Review

Coolife Luggage was established in 1986, a lovely couple-Ivan and Vivian Freeman, with decades of experience in the luggage manufacturing industry, decided to found a luggage factory that can meet world-class standard, in last decades, the small-sized factory gradually grown into a big company and kept a close cooperation many top-notch luggage brands. In 2008 spring, in the hope of letting more customer enjoy the same quality at an more affordable price, they decided to create their own brand, that how COOLIFE comes.
With quality, style, dependability, and innovation in hard shell suitcase and soft shell suitcase, COOLIFE is popular among customers, they have an experienced and creative design team, so their luggage is a collection of innovative and classic. The two found ers' expertise is in luggage manufacturing and thanks to years of luggage manufacturing experience, they are critical to using a variety of materials and consistently pro duce quality work. With over 30 years of experience in the luggage industry, Coolife has expanded and grown into a leading luggage brand worldwide.
Price
Coolife luggage is one of the most affordable options on the market. It provides exceptional quality and design, at a price that will not break the bank. The COOLIFE Luggage Sets are range from $109.99 to $229.99. Hardside luggages starting from $89.99. Softside luggages starting from $79.99.
Designs
Coolife Luggage has a wide range of luggage options to choose from, including hardshell and softshell luggage, spinner luggage, carry-on luggage, and more. These Coolife Luggages are pretty good-looking. They’re modern, colorful, and sleek. Many of the designs are vibrant and eye-catching, making it easy to spot your luggage on a crowded airport conveyor belt. The aesthetic appeal of Coolife luggage also extends to the interior of their suitcases. The brand often features fun prints and patterns on the inside lining, which adds a touch of personality to the luggage.Coolife offers TSA locks on just about any suitcase, even fabric ones, ensuring the safety and security of your valuables.TSA-approved locks are usually present in bags that are over $100.The luggage also comes with YKK zippers.
The top compartment of most Coolife luggage is divided into two separate zippered compartments to provide you with a more organized storage system. The Coolife Laptop Hardside collection comes with a dedicated front pocket for organizing your electronics. Plus, Most Coolife luggage features 360-degree spinner wheels, which allow for effortless movement in any direction. These wheels are made from durable materials, such as rubber or polyurethane, and can glide over a variety of surfaces with ease. The telescoping handle is adjustable to different heights and is typically made from lightweight materials like aluminum or plastic which contributes to the maneuverability of luggage. However, most of their luggage options do not offer expandable features, meaning you may not be able to fit as much inside as you’d like.
Sizes
Coolife offers a variety of luggage options in different sizes and materials, which is great for travelers with varying needs. Coolife luggage comes in three sizes – small, medium, and large. The small size (20 inch carry on) is perfect for weekend getaways, while the medium (24 inch) and large sizes (28 inch) are great for longer trips. The large size is particularly roomy and can fit a lot of items, making it ideal for family vacations.
Material & Durability
Most of Coolife hardside luggage are made from a mixture of ABS and polycarbonate, the zipperless section is made from aluminum. On the Coolife 20-inch fabric carry-on, they’ve used Jacquard Oxford cloth, which is a slight improvement from regular polyester. It’s made from 100% polyester, but it’s weaved in a different pattern that makes it slightly more durable. Coolife’s luggage also features robust zippers, and handles, making them reliable for long-lasting use.
However, it’s probably not shocking to hear that Coolife isn’t the most durable luggage brand out there. A Chinese brand that sells dirt-cheap suitcases isn’t particularly the best combo for durability. Some people complained about broken spinner wheels and zippers, bent or broken handles, and cracks/dents in the hard shell. But for a cheap luggage that’ll last for a few years, they’re probably the best choice right now.
Warranty
Coolife only offers a limited two-year warranty on their products. Warranty for two years includes damage to components such as top handle, telescopic handles, the body and wheels. The normal wear and tear of the luggage and the loss of appearance are not covered by the warranty. In principle, non-quality issues are not included in the 2-year warranty. Out of all the brands I have reviewed, Coolife has the worst warranty out there, alongside Rockland. It is not as long as other, more reputable brands, so I would say to consider this, when making a decision. Although at this price, would it be worth testing the warranty out?

American Tourister Luggage Review
History and Origin
Sol
Koffler established American Tourister in Rhode Island in 1933. Its
founder's goal was to build a durable suitcase that could be sold for a
dollar. Initially branded as American Luggage Works, the company was
eventually acquired by Samsonite, which changed the name to American
Tourister. Originally focused on creating affordable luggage, American
Tourister has since expanded to include a range of styles and designs,
including popular Disney-themed suitcases.Their products have been known
to be stylish and fun yet offer great quality.
For over 75 years, American Tourister has continued its tradition of producing quality and design, providing a large variety of bags and other travel necessities, including luggage items and casual and business bags. American Tourister offers a range of cabin-sized luggage that comes with four multi-directional wheels, ensuring ease of use and navigation through crowded airports. Today, American Tourister continues to innovate with features like spinner wheels and TSA-approved locks. While not as popular as Samsonite, Travelpro or Delsey, American Tourister is still one of the most popular luggage brands in the world.
Price
American Tourister is at the bottom end of the luggage spectrum and their cases rarely cost over 100 bucks. Even their three-piece sets like the Fieldbrook II are super cheap.
Designs
American Tourister tends to have a more youthful and vibrant aesthetic. Their luggage often features bold colors, playful prints, and trendy patterns. They offer a variety of fun and unique collections, some of them even influenced by pop culture (Mickey Mouse, Avengers, Star Wars, etc.), making it easy to find a design that suits your personal style.
American Tourister luggages comes with an external USB port that allows travellers to charge their devices on the go.One of the unique features of their luggage is its spinner wheels, which make it easy to maneuver your luggage in any direction. They also offer a variety of other features, such as TSA-approved locks, compression straps, and expandable compartments for extra packing space. Some of their luggage also comes with detachable toiletry kits and shoe pockets.
Sizes
American Tourister offers a variety of sizes to cater to different travel needs, including smaller carry-on options and larger checked bags. 20-21 inch is a small carry on that you can take on the plane. 24-25 inch is medium checked luggage size that suits smaller trips or one person for a week if you don’t overpack; 28-29 inch is the largest checked size that you can use for longer trips or include two people.
Material & Durability
American
Tourister often use ABS or Polycarbonate for their hardside bags and
polyester for their fabric bags, both of which cost cheaper than using
polycarbonate, aluminum, or nylon, so they are more prone to scratches.
Their
spinner wheels are usually made from durable materials that can
withstand frequent use and easily roll on most surfaces, but aren't
quite as high-end as premium options. While American Tourister luggages
may not last you a lifetime, they certainly won't break down anytime
soon either.
Warranty
American Tourister offers three kinds of warranties: a limited global warranty, a limited 3-year warranty, or a limited 10-year warranty. If there is a defect in the materials or workmanship of the luggage, American Tourister will repair or replace it at their discretion. These warranties don’t cover normal wear and tear, or airline damage, or even improper use. You have the option to purchase repair parts especially if your luggage is no longer covered by the warranty.

Bottom Line
Rockland vs. Samsonite vs. Coolife vs. American Tourister Luggage: Which One is the Best Option?
If you’re looking for a suitcase for frequent flying that will last you for many years and come with an excellent warranty in case something goes wrong, Samsonite or American Tourister is a wiser choice.
Samsonite is one of the world’s largest luggage companies. It offer everything from lower-end cases to the top-end Cosmolite, it is hard to generalise. Obviously the top end cases have better wheels and materials. The biggest advantage that you get, while purchasing a Samsonite luggage is that you get mid-range price coupled with the brands durability. Samsonite is known as the go-to luggage brand for those who want reliability at reasonable prices.
American Tourister is a subsidiary of Samsonite, but focuses on more affordable luggage options without sacrificing quality. They have a range of sizes and styles, making it easy for consumers to find the perfect luggage for their needs. However, their luggages are still more expensive than Rockland and Coolife.
If you need a suitcase but don’t have the capital to invest in something that will last for decades, Coolife is probably your best bet. Compared to the more traditional designs of Samsonite and American Tourister, Coolife Luggage also offers a more contemporary aesthetic. Although they’re not remarkably durable, they're cheap, good-looking, and come with useful features.
Rockland is priced similarly , don’t offer most of the features that Coolife does. So in the affordable range, Coolife seemly to be the better options than Rockland. However, Rockland luggage is pretty good for children because it’s colorful and printed in various fun patterns. If you wanted something that has good vibrant design, very cheap, and you only travel once a year etc., you can try Rockland's luggages.
