Oikos Pro vs. Triple Zero vs. Blended: Differences and Reviews 2024

Oikos Pro vs. Triple Zero vs. Blended: Differences and Reviews 2024

    • Greek yogurt is less liquid-y and more concentrated than traditional yogurt, and therefore contains more protein. And because straining removes lactose, it’s lower in carbs and may even be more tolerable for those with a lactose sensitivity. Inspired by the original Greek Yogurt, the Oikos Greek yogurt is made by eliminating the whey from the yogurt by using a separation method. This straining method gives the yogurt its characteristically thick, creamy and smooth texture, as well as its delicious taste we all know! The three most common Oikos Greek yogurts in the dairy aisle are Pro,Triple Zero, and Blended. Which is best? We want to look at them from top to bottom. This includes their ingredients, how they taste, costs, quality, and more!

  • The Benefits of Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is thicker and more tart than regular yogurt. This is because of an extra step in the manufacturing process. The straining process for making Greek yogurt removes most of its liquid components as well as the milk sugar. What's left is a thicker, creamier mixture that contains nearly twice as much protein as regular yogurt. This allows it to keep you feeling fuller for longer, as the fat and protein help slow down your blood sugar response.

Many also contain probiotics, but you'll want to look for probiotics listed on the label. It provides a versatile base for a nutrient-dense snack or meal.

With so many Greek yogurt products on the market—sweetened, plain, full-fat, non-fat, 2%, skyr—it can be a challenge to pick the best option. It will largely depend on your personal preference, but it also helps to look at the yogurt's protein value, sugar content and any additives.

Today Greek yogurt is a multibillion dollar industry in the US, but with so many brands to choose from, which is best?

  • About Oikos

Launched in the mid-nineties as a brand of creamy natural yoghurts inspired from the authentic Greek recipes, Oikos quickly evolved with its bi-layered flavors: the association of its unique creamy yoghurt with indulgent layers of fruits.

Inspired by the original Greek Yogurt, the Oikos Greek yogurt is made by eliminating the whey from the yogurt by using a separation method. This straining method gives the yogurt its characteristically thick, creamy and smooth texture, as well as its delicious taste we all know!

All yogurts are made from milk that has been pasteurized first. Bacterial cultures and ingredients are added after pasteurization. Oikos greek yogurt is made from two bacterial strains, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which are found in all yogurts.

Price: $1.42 at Walmart

Other ingredients: 9 essential amino acids

Flavors: Plain, Stevia leaf, Vanilla

OIKOS has always made some pretty good yogurt, and this no exception. Most of your greek yogurts either taste really sharp and bitter, or are masked with sugars. This is right in the middle to where it's neutral, and the slight vanilla makes it bearable. Sweeten with stevia leaf a plus. The flavoring is spot on and not overpowering, the consistency is nice and thick, and the cup is easy to spoon every last bit out of.

It's rich, creamy, tasty and has the added benefit of having 20 g of protein. It's a great snack choice for anyone. It also fits into a healthy lifestyle, providing important nutrients such as calcium, protein, and vitamin D.

One 5.3-oz. (150-gram) serving of Oikos Pro Greek yogurt contains:

Cons:

The aftertaste of artificial sweetener

Review: Vanilla is always a safe flavor and guaranteed not to have slumps of fruit in it. This vanilla was no different. it was sweet and smooth and had a nice flavor. what's nice about this particular product is that is that is has a high protein and NO SUGARS! this changes everything as the regular yogurts can have a much higher levels of sugars than one might think. this is great if you are focusing on a diet that needs higher protein or lower/no sugars.

One customer said: "Nice and creamy - great consistency. Has zero grams added sugar and no artificial flavors, and no colors from artificial sources. All pluses! Unfortunately for me, it had an after taste of Stevia leaf that I can taste and do not like. This is why I gave it a 4 star - I understand that not everyone dislikes Stevia."

Cons:

Remove The Chicory Root

Review: This yogurt impresses with its taste, texture and lightness. It has no added sugar or artificial sweeteners yet is still noticeably sweet. Recommend this yogurt to anyone who is avoiding sugar or needs to minimize their sugar intake and needs or wants more protein in their diet as you will not be disappointed in this one. Although Calories, carbs and sodium are decreased, taking away the fiber and increasing the sugar is disappointing.

One customer said: "I've been eating Oiikos triple 0 EVERYDAY for years and one of the main selling points for me was it had chicory root and high protein. Now that you have removed the chicory root, what makes it so special? NOTHING. You've also upped the cholesterol and sugar! You were my favorite yogurt, please bring back the chickery root!"

Cons:

Add Sugars

Review: The yogurt itself was very thick. More thick than other Greek yogurts, but also very filling. Great taste, very filling, and perfect for a midday snack. It has a SLIGHT taste of that sour but it's not overpowering and actually tastes good with the contrast of the sweet from the vanilla flavor. Also, for a flavored yogurt, the sugar content is not terribly high.

One customer said: "I always loved Oikos yogurt so was super excited to try the new version. I honestly didn't think it could get much better, but it's definitely smoother to me. Absolutely delicious. I love the indulgent vanilla bean flavor, just the right amount of sweetness. Great serving of protein and is good for your belly bacteria. Excellent with fruit and a touch of granola for breakfast, but I usually have one for lunch and it holds me over to dinner. Fantastic yogurt!"
