Hurom H-AA vs. H200 vs. H300 vs. H310: Which Juicer to Choose?

Hurom H-AA vs. H200 vs. H300 vs. H310: Which Juicer to Choose?

If you buy fresh juice on a regular basis, a juicer can be a worthwhile investment. The best can crush an entire farmers market harvest into a smooth, flavorful juice with little to no froth; sit easily on the counter; won't wake up the whole house; are easy to clean, and come with a decent warranty. To get our top picks for juicer brands for juicing everything from hardy root vegetables to leafy greens, we consider the flavor, texture, foam level, and oxidation rate of the resulting juice. We recommend buying a Hurom juicer. Wondering what the best Hurom juicer is? Let's find out! Can't decide between Hurom AA and Hurom H300 H200 H310? Honest review of the Hurom Slow Juicer range.

What Are Slow Juicers, and Why Are They So Popular?

Many people juice as a way to improve their overall health, reduce stress, get clear skin, and improve their best weight loss efforts.

Both slow juicers and normal, or centrifugal juicers provide your body with more nutrients than you get on a regular basis. Slow juicers offer a better solution because they use gravity, a slower blade speed, and more pulp control.

The term “slow juicers” is used to describe how the blades work, not how much time it takes to make a drink. Slow juicers are sometimes called masticating juicer or cold presses.

Slow juicers tend to also be quieter, which a lot of consumers prefer. Most juicers like to enjoy their beverages first thing in the morning, which can make for a loud experience if you do not live alone.

Centrifugal juicers vs. Slow juicers

In shopping for juicers, you will notice that vertical machines are one of two types of juicer: centrifugal or slow. Knowing the difference will help you determine which style of juicer is best for your home kitchen’s needs.

Centrifugal juicers are fast, powerful, and loud. The mechanical whirring and speed can make it sound like the machine is going to take off into space. This is because centrifugal juicers feature sharp metal teeth that shred produce while spinning rapidly. They’re the best bet for making lots of juice in a short period of time, but you’ll also need to drink your yield more quickly; the juice from centrifugal models separates and oxidation happens more rapidly. Juice from centrifugal juicers typically also contains more foam, which is why something like the Breville’s built-in froth separator comes in handy. Also, some believe that the heat generated by a centrifugal’s rapidly moving parts reduces the nutrient levels in your finished juice. On the plus side, however, they are usually less expensive than their slow counterparts.

Slow juicers (a.k.a. masticating or cold-press juicers) take longer than centrifugal juicers to break down produce because the internal mechanism moves at low-speed to manually crush and squeeze each piece as it passes through rather than tearing it to bits. Some slow juicers have smaller feed tubes, so you’ll have to prep your ingredients a bit more beforehand, but because there is no heat or fast-moving parts, the resulting juice has less foam and stays fresh for slightly longer. Slow juicers are quieter, easier to clean, and usually slightly smaller than centrifugal juicers. But they are more expensive as well.

Hurom Juicer Brand Review:Pros & Cons

Hurom Juicers are a masticating juicer with a design that crushes the produce instead of chopping it up. It has three sets of blades and the end product looks like sanitary straws, originating from its Korean origin.

As opposed to fast-speed centrifugal juicers which often yield less nutritious drinks with high levels of oxidation and heat, Hurom Table has teeth and extracts juice slowly (120 RPM). HUROM H-AA Reviews

image.png

The H-AA is part of the latest generation of elite Hurom vertical juicers and is the flagship model, a direct replacement for the 2nd generation HH 11. It has an elegant design, that has been streamlined to reduce its size, without impacting on performance. The motor in this model runs incredibly quietly and turns at only 43 RPM, a speed that is perfect for getting a maximum yield. The H-AA and its sibling models are also incredibly versatile, with a range of screens that will allow you to make: nut butters, sorbets/ice creams, smoothies and more. Having such a wide range of functions is rather uncommon amongst vertical juicers and this device does an excellent job, highly exceeding expectations.

Sporting an improved in design and fine tuned performance, the Hurom H-AA is at the current frontrunner in the world of vertical juicers. It contains Alpha Technology juicing components, which have been developed by Hurom to provide a smoother, and more efficient juicing experience than ever before.

Most major manufacturers have been slow in launching new models that improve on even Hurom's 2nd Generation models. So, we are very glad to see Hurom themselves leading the way with new pioneering technology in this 3rd Generation. In terms of capability the H-AA is amazing, especially when you compare it's features to its price, and its bonus accessories of a coarse screen and homogenising blank make it one of the most versatile vertical juicers to date.

The 4 Most Popular Slow Juicers

Hurom H200 Self-Feeding Slow Juicer

Juicer Features

  • Self-feeding juicing method

  • Capable of juicing ingredients whole

  • Slow 50 RPM juicing speed

  • Easy to clean

  • Optimised assembly process

  • BPA free juicing parts

  • Modern and attractive design

Self-Feeding Function

Naturally, one of the most exciting features of the Hurom H200 is its self-feeding capability, which allows it to operate independently. Essentially, this means that it takes half the time to make a glass of juice, as no assistance is needed after the juicer is activated. The only requirement is to fill the feed chamber with produce ahead of starting it up.

The feed chamber itself has a large capacity, allowing it to hold plenty of ingredients at a time. Therefore, it is possible to get a full glass of juice by processing just one load of produce for a fast turnaround. Additionally, the blade inside the feed chamber is sturdy and durable, enabling the H200 to cut through ingredients with ease.

Whole Produce Juicing

On top of its self-feeding function, the H200 makes a mark with its ability to juice whole fruits and vegetables. As a result, it can process ingredients such as apples, carrots and peeled oranges without the need for any preparation. Once again, this is a feature that saves a lot of time, making the entire juicing process with the H200 much faster than any other model available.

Slow Squeeze Technology

While saving time is a priority for the H200, it is still able to produce juices equal in quality to other top tier vertical models, which is mainly thanks to Hurom’s Slow Squeeze Technology. This technology allows for optimum nutrient extraction from produce by using slow processing speeds and plenty of pressure. The H200 works at just 50 rotations per minute (RPM), giving it plenty of contact time with ingredients to squeeze out high yields and plenty of vitamins and minerals.

Efficient Cleaning

Beyond its juicing abilities, the H200 is also incredibly easy to clean, as, like Hurom’s H100 model, it throws out the easily clogged juicing screen for a two-part strainer combination. When slotted together, these strainers function in perfect harmony to separate juice and pulp, but after juicing, they can be separated with ease and rinsed clean in a matter of seconds. When compared to a typical screen that can take as long as 5 minutes to clean, this is a bit improvement.

On top of the incredible strainer combination, Hurom has redesigned the H200’s juicing bowl with particular attention to its pulp ejection chute. This chute can now be unlocked and opened along its full length, making the removal of any pulp residue a much faster process.

Optimised Assembly

Since the H200 embodies ease of use, it’s only logical that it is also easy to assemble. With only five parts needed for the juicer to be operational, it is quick to put together and all of the parts slot into place smoothly and swiftly. Additionally, the parts can now be pieced together separately to the base and then placed onto it once they are assembled, making the process much less awkward.

Beyond being fast to assemble the H200’s parts have been manufactured to a top standard from high-quality materials. They are all made of BPA free plastics to ensure that there is no leaching of chemicals, even if they are heated up.

Modern Design

Finally, moving away from its plethora of impressive abilities and features, the Hurom H200 is also noteworthy for its design. Sporting a very modern and chic aesthetic, the H200 has advanced beyond the standards we have become used to with juicer design and is embracing style to match its other qualities. As a result, it’s one of the few juicers that isn’t an eyesore, and it looks at home on a kitchen countertop.

Self-Feeding Slow Juicing

Distinguishing itself from the crowd, the H300 uses the latest generation of Hurom’s much loved self-feeding technology. As a result, it can quickly turn a full chamber of ingredients into a glass of fresh juice without assistance.

Additionally, the internal cutting blade allows it to process whole fruits and vegetables. Saving time on ingredient preparation that would typically be necessary with other juicers.

That blade is also highly effective at grabbing all manner of ingredients. Therefore, the H300 is well suited to juicing a mixture of different ingredients from root vegetables to fruits or leafy greens.

Among the H300’s many great features, the implementation of self-feeding technology is particularly notable. Its ability to juice ingredients unassisted makes for a truly superior juicing experience and the only user-assisted action required is to fill the top chamber with ingredients.

Additionally, it can even process and juice whole fruits and vegetables. Therefore, it saves on the time required for preparing ingredients in advance of juicing on top of the savings already made to the juicing process itself.

Beyond its experience-oriented features, the Hurom H300 has been built to an excellent standard from durable materials. As a result, it can handle frequent use while keeping wear to a minimum.

The juicing parts themselves are all made of sturdy BPA-free plastics including Tritan and Ultem. This ensures they can handle high-pressure situations without breaking while being completely food safe.

Hurom H310 Self-Feeding Mini Slow Juicer

Juicer Features

  • Juicing speed of 43 rotations per minute

  • Self-feeding single augur juicing mechanism

  • Slow Squeeze Technology™

  • Unique multi-screw augur

  • BPA-free juicing components

  • Easy to clean

  • Minimalist compact design

  • Power-efficient 100-watt motor

Self-Feeding Slow Juicing

Like many of Hurom’s more recent juicer releases, the H310 is a self-feeding juicer, all be it on a smaller scale. This means that when it comes to juicing, it can work completely by itself without the need for supervision or manual feeding of ingredients.

In essence, this means that it’s a huge time saver as the 5 - 10 minutes that would typically be spent dropping ingredients into the juicer 1-by-1 can now be used freely. All that’s required is to fill the top container with produce before turning the motor on.

Although, unlike its full-size sibling, the H300, the H310’s smaller container can’t handle whole fruits and vegetables. Therefore, some brief preparation is necessary. But this can be kept to a minimum as the crushing hook within the container can still do a lot of the work by itself.

Multi-Screw Mechanism

Paired up with the self-feeding technology, the H310 also makes use of a multi-screw mechanism also found in the Hurom H300. This latest mechanism is Hurom’s most capable and efficient to date, and it offers fast results with only 3 core parts, reducing the number of failure points.

Alongside a boost in efficiency, the multi-screw can also be used for other functions such as producing nut milk or ice cream without the need for any additional parts or accessories. As a result, it proves very versatile and allows the H310 to be used for more than just juicing.

Slow Squeeze Technology™

To ensure great juice yields, Hurom implements its patented Slow Squeeze Technology™ in all of its models. The H310 is no exception to this rule, and it operates at an optimal rotation speed of 43 RPM.

This slow speed gives all ingredients plenty of contact time with the augur, ensuring that maximum yields can be extracted. The increased juicing time also allows for greater levels of nutrient extraction for a higher-quality end result.

Easy-Clean Parts

Beyond its juicing-related advantages, the Hurom H310 is also lightning quick to clean. For starters, it only has 3 parts that need washing after each use, all of which rinse clean in a matter of seconds.

This is then further supplemented by the previously mentioned multi-screw augur, which can be separated into 2 halves, making it very easy to wash away any residual pulp while reaching every nook.

High-Quality Materials

Rounding out the package, Hurom have built the H310 to their usual high standard, despite its relatively low price. To that end, it is constructed from a range of tried and tested BPA-free plastics that are known for their durability.

This ensures they won’t leach chemicals while allowing them to handle the high-pressure environment required for proper juicing, without the risk of them cracking or breaking.

Compact Design

Last of all, a big advantage for the H310 is its incredibly compact build, which not only keeps it very lightweight but also makes it easy to store or even travel with. A set of advantages that will likely appeal to the H310’s primary audience.

It’s not entirely focused on practicality though, as the body also has a sleek and minimalist design that is available in a range of colours. Allowing it to fit seamlessly into most kitchens without needing to be hidden away.

That's why we here only stock the best of the best, and when we got our hands on this juicer we had no doubt that it qualified. One thing we noticed right from the start was the slimmer and sleeker body of the H-AA compared to many other vertical juicers. This makes it lighter and much more comfortable to move. The H-AA also has some very noticeable upgrades to its juicing components, which include: an improved augur design, a revamped spinning brush and a new gearing system in the base of the juicing bowl. This new gearing system allows the spinning brush to rotate and an incredible 17 RPM which is much slower than the previous HH 11 2nd Generation juicer, which rotated at the same speed as the motor.

Efficient Augur Design

The new auger design removes the wings from the previous 2nd generation which allow for better and easier assembly of the juicer and also as the wings were quite thin on the edges it means it is also less likely to break if dropped. Apart from that, the new design we believe will allow for more efficient juicing of your fruit and vegetables which will result in a greater yield

Slow Spin Speeds

The new juicing screen and spinning brush design make the new Hurom H-AA Alpha 3rd Generation model easier to assemble and maintain however most of all it can extract more juice from the fruit and vegetables. We found that the wiper blades were more robust than the previous version as well as the wiper blades having grooves at the bottom which allows the new gearing system to work.

Streamlined Juicing Bowl

The new juicing bowl design is a marked improvement in several different ways, and we believe that the biggest improvement is the new gearing system which allows the wiper blades to rotate at just 17 RPM. This means that you get minimal foaming and also a well-mixed juice as a result. We also found that the juicer itself is more robust with fewer rubber parts and there is a cut-out where the pulp would come out which means that it makes it far easier to clean.

The Hurom H-AA is versatile, not only does it come with the Fine Screen but it now comes with 2 new attachments the Coarse Screen and the Homogenizing Screen or Sorbet Screen. This opens up the possibility to use your juicer for a wide variety of recipes. These include nut and soya milk, frozen sorbet, nut butter, hummus, smoothies as well as juices.

Easy Operation

From our testing, we found it very easy to use and to clean. To get the highest possible yield with minimal cleaning, we advise that you chop the fruit and vegetable into small chunks which are about 2 inches in length and feed them in slowly. As soon as you see the pulp ejecting, then you feed in more. This will give you the best yield, driest pulp and also least amount of time cleaning the juicer.

Regarding cleaning, we advise at the end to keep the juicer running and poor in a glass of water with the juice cap closed and let the water build on in the juicing chamber. Then after 20 seconds drain and repeat. This will clean most of your juicer out, and then you simply rinse the parts in running water using the cleaning brush to clean the juicing screen.

The new Hurom H-AA Alpha 3rd Generation Juicer is a fantastic juicer and one which we believe is an improvement over the previous 2nd Generation HH 11 2G model. Not only will this improve the quality of juice that you will be getting but also the extra attachments such as the coarse screen and homogenising screen make it even more versatile than ever before.

Our Verdict

Hurom H200 Easy Clean Slow Juicer

The Hurom H200 Easy Clean Slow Juicer assembled in minutes and had a large hopper capable of fitting whole fruits (and a lot of other ingredients). It also worked quietly and produced very little pulp, meaning more actual juice. But while cleanup was a breeze, the machine had trouble processing fibrous ingredients like kale and ginger, and didn’t successfully juice a half lemon in our testing.

The Hurom H200 is a behemoth of a machine, and in my opinion possibly one of the bulkiest looking juicers on this list. However, it does feature a built in pulp container which can be very helpful in reducing the amount of mess on your countertop. The H200 is the first juicer in Hurom’s innovative range of Cold Press Juicers that incorporates a complete juicing system of chopping and juicing.

Its new ‘Mega Hopper’ aka wide feeding chute, enables whole fruit and vegetables to be inserted without chopping, similar to the H3000, 400 Evolve and Kuvings. If you’re looking for a juicer that is going to sit inconspicuously in your kitchen, this may not be the one for you. Price wise, it’s on the steep end…not as expensive as Kuvings, but certainly a lot more expensive than Optimum.

Statuesque and impressive-looking, this Hurom Slow Juicer is strictly reserved for those who are really into their juicing or have a decent amount of money to spend.

This model has been well-designed, featuring easy-clean parts and a self-contained pulp bin that contributes to the Hurom’s streamlined appearance.

Little-to-no prep is required for ingredients, simply pop them in the large jug and let the self-feeding mechanism do the hard work for you.

The juice produced was smooth, vibrant and foam-free.

Self-feeding juicers, like Hurom's H200 Easy Clean Slow Juicer, make juicing a lot easier. It can handle whole fruits — about three medium-sized apples, and larger chunks of ones that don't fit — which shortens prep time, and it's vertically integrated with a small footprint.

There are two schools of thought on self-feeding juicers. Some people find that they get overloaded, overwhelmed, and clogged too easily. The other is that they're big time-savers: over the course of the three years we've spent with them and only had problems when trying to juice mealy, overripe fruits, including pears, plums, and peaches, which turned into a mushy mess that wouldn't feed.

This machine offers the highest yield with the least amount of foam out of all the juicers we've tested, and at 50 RPM, is 10 RPM slower than the H-AI, our previous pick for a slow juicer, as well as the Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer above.

While the H200 impressed us with its effortless production of perfect, rich, foam-free juice out of whole fruits, our favorite thing about it is how easy it is to clean. It comes with a small brush for removing fine pulp, although we're not sure you'll ever need it. As advertised, cleaning is as simple as running each part underwater.

The H200 is a powerful, easy-to-use, easy-to-clean, cabinet-friendly juicer that makes outstanding juice with little fuss, but know that it's heavy and pricey.

Hurom H310 Easy Clean Slow Juicer

The Hurom H310 Easy Clean Slow Juicer is one of the company’s newer models and works well while taking up very little counter space. It produces juice with almost no foam, and its six pieces come apart and clean up easily. The design flaw of this juicer is in its hopper, which must be opened in order to add ingredients during juicing. Opening the hopper stops the internal mechanism mid-mastication, which, when restarted, can jam. The H310 had trouble with some of the more fibrous ingredients like kale, but if you’re willing to put in the extra prep time to break down some of the ingredients into smaller, more manageable pieces, it will work well as a personal juicer.

Hurom H-AA Slow Juicer

The Hurom H-AA Slow Juicer came with some impressive add-ons like an ice cream strainer and tofu press set, but the chute was too small to fit produce that wasn’t cut into tiny pieces and the foam yield was quite high.

Another thing you should know about the term “slow juicer” is that it’s a bit of a misnomer since the Hurom juicer is not that slow. It juices quite quickly and is only called a “slow juicer” because it operates at a low 80 RPM and uses only 150 watts of energy to do its thing (the typical centrifugal juicer operates at 1,000+ RPM and uses up to 1,500 watts of energy).

The H-AA Slow Juicer is part of Hurom’s Alpha series. Hurom calls this their flagship model.

This Hurom juicer comes with an adjustable lever and both fine and coarse screens to get the pulp levels just right.

Also included is an ice cream maker, a tofu press and a drying rack for the parts so it can do more than just fruits and vegetables.

The Hurom H-AA is available in black, white and rose gold.
