Air Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo Real vs. Fake Guide 2024: How Can I Tell If It Is Real?

1.The Overlook of Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo

Modeled after the Air Jordan 4 Oreo from 1999, the Air Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo released in May 2021. The shoe's upper emerges with a white tumbled leather construction, with the usual mesh inserts at the quarter panel and vamp. The molded eyelets sport a cement finish, matched underfoot by the polyurethane midsole.Visible Air in the heel provides cushioning, giving way to a rubber outsole for traction.The neutral hue is repeated on the Jumpman heel logo and polyurethane midsole, featuring encapsulated Air cushioning in the forefoot and a visible unit under the heel. A second Jumpman adorns the tongue in a contrasting pop of Fire Red.

This, for many, is a classic colorway, even though it isn’t an original one. It can be looked at as an alternate colorway of an earlier Retro Plus release of the same Air Jordan model. Whatever the case may be, these are clean and definitely worth your attention…and maybe even your money.

01)The grey midsole on the authentic sole appears to be darker than the replica one.Not only  it is lighter, but its outline is different from the original.It needs to be more defined and wider close to the heel counter.

02)The triangle detail in the middle of the counterfeit sneaker needs to have a bigger inner section with more defined corners and a less wide outline.

03)The replica one in the right picture is more thick and severe.

2.The Heel Counter

01)For some reason, the factory decided to make the logo less defined, with a harsh outline that doesn't replicate the original look at all. 

02)On both feet of the Jumpman logo, you can notice an extra detail on the shoes with the replicas. You don't see this on retails, and if you do, it doesn't come close to being the same size as shown on the fakes.

03)On the fake Air Jordan 4, where the leather material connects, you can see several threads. The retail pairs do not show these same threads, and are quite good at making it not noticeable. 

04)The authentic logo is also thicker, which makes it even more defined compared to the right picture. The cut-out part on top of the heel shouldn't be as high up either and the stitching needs to be connecting the two sides so well that the transition point shouldn't even be visible.

3.Tongue Logo

01)First of all, its texture: even though you can see how the authentic logo looks embroidered, its surface is still smooth and even whereas the replica one looks fuzzy with no defined outline and textured surface.

02)The tongue of the sneaker isn't supposed to be all smooth as it is leather that needs to have little graininess to it just as shown in the left picture.

4.The Toe-Box

01)On the real Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo, the toe box is much wider and has a flatter curve towards the bottom. However on the replicas, the toe box is much more narrow and sharp. This is a common flaw amongst counterfeit sneakers, not just Air Jordan 4s.

02)The net-like surface on top of the counterfeit toe-box doesn't have to be as thick and separated from the background material which makes it look super cheap.

03)While each stitch is tight and symmetrical in the right picture, they seem to be sloppy, asymmetrical, and insecure which automatically means that the pieces will come apart pretty soon. 

5.The Heel 

01)The genuine Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo, the stitching is symmetrical, flawless, and seamless, whereas on the counterfeit model spaces between the sloppy stitches are bigger.

02)The Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo's have an iconic bump on the heel profile. Only visible by looking at the kicks from the side, the heel bump gives the back of the shoe a curved silhouette. And the fake pair has a pretty straight shape, rather than the real pair’s shape, which involves a curvature on the back.

6.Window

Next, let's move onto the window at the side profile of the Air Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo. This is the triangular black tab that attaches from the sneaker to the laces.

• Stitching

This is denoted by the yellow circle below.On the real Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo, these 2 threads must be extremely close to one another without leaving a lot of space/gap between it. On the fake Jordan 4 in this case, you can see that the spacing is far too wide from each other.

• Rubber Lace Grid

Denoted by the red circle below. This is where the shoe lace will go through, and you'll see 9 cells in the grid. Notice the size difference of the cell on the authentic and fake Air Jordan 4. The fake Jordan 4s have bigger cells when they should be narrow like on the retails.

• Color Tint

The real Jordan 4 Retro White Oreo should always have a white tint to it. Many fake Air Jordan 4s (even top-tier counterfeits) will have a yellowish tint to the window.

7.The Sole

01)The details on the authentic sole are engraved deeply in the rubber which makes a big difference compared to the situation in the right picture. 

02)The top grey detail with stars on it isn't centered on the counterfeit sole and the stars aren't as highlighted as they are supposed to be either.

03)On the authentic Air Jordan 4 Retro, there is a sectioned strip that is smooth. However on the replica, you can see that this same sectioned strip has a grainy texture to it.

8.The Box

Although the J's boxes vary across different collaborations, typically, you will find the Air Jumpman logo on the roof of the box and a feature label on one side of the box.

01)The fake barcode numbers are much too thick and bolded relative to the authentic barcode.

02)How dark the QR code is on the replica compared to the retail box. Also the QR code is much bigger than the authentic one.
