About Samsung Galaxy S21 Series
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is a series of Android-based smartphones designed, developed, marketed, and manufactured by Samsung Electronics as part of its Galaxy S series. They collectively serve as the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.
Lineup
The lineup comprises four devices, with the Galaxy S21 initially being the least expensive with a smaller screen size and a (plastic) polycarbonate back which then is undercut later on by the Galaxy S21 FE with the same material minus the camera bump being also polycarbonate than metal. In contrast to the Galaxy S20+, the Galaxy S21+ is very similar to the S21 spec-wise, with the exception of a larger display, higher battery capacity, and back glass instead of plastic. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has an even larger screen size, battery, and a host of other improvements over the other models, including a more advanced camera setup highlighted by its 108 MP main sensor with laser auto-focus and a higher resolution 1440p display. The S21 Ultra is also the first phone in the Galaxy S series to support the S Pen, albeit sold separately and with limited functionality.
S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra
The lineup of the first three devices was unveiled at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on 14 January 2021. The phones were released on 29 January 2021.
S21 FE
The "Fan Edition" follow up was unveiled at Samsung's CES 2022 event on 3 January 2022.The phones were released on 11 January 2024.The S21 FE arrives very late in the S21family’s product cycle, taking some of the shine off of the “this year’s flagship for less” appeal.

>>Samsung Galaxy S21
The No-Brainer Upgrade Phone
User Reviews:4.5/5.0
The Galaxy S21 is Samsung's current flagship smartphone. It starts at $800 and comes with a 6.2-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor in the US and a triple-lens camera with a 12-megapixel wide lens, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and 64-megapixel telephoto lens. CNET gave it a great review for its sensible price, attractive design and high refresh rate screen, but it's worth remembering that the Galaxy S22 is expected to launch soon.
The Galaxy S21 isn’t the star of Samsung’s S series in 2021, like we’ve been used to for most of the past decade, but it’s a solid smartphone choice with an impressive camera, powerful internals and great battery life. If you want the best of the best, look to the Galaxy S21 Ultra; but if you want a handset that’s cheaper than the Galaxy S20 was at launch, with a whole load of premium features, the Galaxy S21 is a delight to use, and will do you proud.

Is Samsung Galaxy S21 Worth Buying?
Buy it if…
You want a smaller Samsung phone
The Samsung Galaxy S21 isn’t the smallest premium phone on the market – that honor likely goes to the iPhone 12 mini – but it’s a good choice for anyone who doesn’t want a fantastically large smartphone in their pocket.
You need one of the most powerful Android phones
The Galaxy S21 offers some phenomenally good performance, and if you need a smartphone that can handle multiple tasks at once in split-screen view or when gaming this will likely be it.
If you’ve got a much older phone
If you have the Galaxy S20 then the S21 isn’t an essential upgrade, as it doesn’t represent a clear improvement in terms of specs and features, but if you have the S10 or below you’re more likely to find the S21 a worthwhile upgrade.
Don’t buy it if…
You own a Samsung Galaxy S20
As we say above, if you already own the Galaxy S20, there’s little reason to upgrade to this handset, as it doesn’t represent a clear improvement in terms of specs and features. Instead, you'll want to look toward the Galaxy S21 Ultra or perhaps wait for whatever Samsung does next.
You need lots of storage
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is hamstrung by its relatively meagre built-in storage and lack of microSD support for expanding on that. If you need lots of space on your smartphone for games, music and video, you’re better off going for almost any other top Android phone, as most will let you slot in a microSD card.
You want the best of the best
The Samsung Galaxy S21 isn’t the star of the Galaxy S21 family – if you’re after the very best from the company in 2021 you’ll want to look at the Galaxy S21 Ultra – if your budget can stretch to its considerable price tag.
>>Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
The ultimate Samsung Phone
User Reviews:4.6/5.0
With its supercharged processor, 5G connectivity, S Pen stylus support and amazing camera skills, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G represents the pinnacle of what Samsung currently offers in its phones. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the one to go for if you really value taking amazing photos with your phone, or simply if you want to know you've got the latest, greatest technology stuffed into your jeans.
If you want the absolute best specs and features, the S21 Ultra is undoubtedly appealing. The phone will also attract camera nerds, thanks to the improvements. The addition of S-Pen support -- it's the first Galaxy S phone to support the stylus -- will likely catch the eye of Galaxy Note users looking for a different option.

Is Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Worth Buying?
Buy it if...
You want epic camera zooms
Samsung cameras are the most fun for us to test due to the epic shot variety. Two telephoto lenses are the big highlight with the S21 Ultra, and the 100x zoom will impress your friends, even if the standard image quality only ties the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
You need the most powerful Android
The Samsung Galaxy S21 delivers some phenomenally good performance, and if you need a smartphone that can handle multiple tasks at once in split-screen view, or when gaming, this will likely be it.
You want some S Pen features
Grab an S Pen and start jotting down notes on a Galaxy S phone? You can do that for the first time ever here. We’ve also gotten to use tools like translating text and previewing links, just like on a Note phone.
Don't buy it if...
You’re on a budget
We recommend the S21 Ultra over the S21 and S21 Plus simply because it has so much extra going on. But if you can’t afford it, wait a few months and this phone will drop in price (during Amazon Prime Day or Black Friday).
You need lots of storage
No microSD card slot is a deal-breaker.Almost any other Android phone (outside of Google’s Pixels and OnePlus) has this feature – but you won’t get that advanced camera zoom.
You want advanced stylus features
The S21 Ultra is compatible with the S Pen, but it doesn’t outright replace the Note 20 Ultra.
>>Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
Flagship Tech at a More Approachable Price
User Reviews:4.7/5.0
The S21 FE arrives very late in the S21 family’s product cycle, taking some of the shine off of the “this year’s flagship for less” appeal. It also offers just about everything you get from the standard S21, with the exception of a couple fewer gigs of RAM, a lower-quality telephoto camera, and a slightly larger screen. But at $699 it’s also not significantly cheaper than the $799 S21. Considering that the S21 is often discounted and that the S22 is likely to arrive soon, the S21 FE doesn’t look like much of a deal.
No doubt, the S21 FE is a good device. Its Snapdragon 888 processor and 6GB of RAM provide seamless, fast performance for most tasks. A 6.4-inch OLED screen offers smooth scrolling with its 120Hz refresh rate. And even with a big, bright, high refresh rate screen, its battery will take you through a full day.

Is Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Worth Buying?
Buy it if...
You want a good-looking medium-sized screen
While the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has similar screen specs to its siblings, it sits at a nice middle ground between them in terms of size.
You want the Galaxy S21's cameras
Despite a few slight changes here and there, the Galaxy S21 FE has basically the same camera capabilities as its main-series siblings.
You want a slender mobile
We found the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comfortable to hold in the hand, with a thin body and light weight, so if you don't want a chunky device it's a good option.
Don't buy it if...
You find the Galaxy S21 for cheaper
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is a better-specced phone than its FE sibling in most ways, so if you find it available for less, just buy it instead. Alternatively, you could wait for the S22, which should be along soon.
You need fast charging
The FE's 25W powering certainly isn't fast, not when it means the device takes well over an hour to fully power up, and if you need quick turn-around times for charging your device, there are many better options.
Long-lasting battery is important
We often found we needed to augment our behavior to get the Galaxy S21 FE to last a full day between charges - if you want a reliable one-day-plus mobile, it's not going to be great for you.
>>Samsung Galaxy S21+
The Flagship All-Rounder
User Reviews:4.6/5.0
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus once again proves why Samsung is the dominant Android phone manufacturer. The company pioneered things we take for granted nowadays like huge displays. Samsung has previously taken a “throw everything at the wall to see what sticks” kind of approach. And although it might’ve seemed silly at points in the past, this MO has given us mainstay features.
With the Galaxy S21 Plus, however, Samsung takes a step back, restraining itself to instead offer a compelling, big screen device. All of the over-the-top focus was on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, while the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus are more iterative upgrades on their S20 predecessors.

Is Galaxy S21+ Worth Buying?
Buy it if...
You think the Galaxy S21 is too small
Do you like the look of the Galaxy S21 but need a slightly larger screen? If so then the S21 Plus is the phone you’re looking for, with a 6.7-inch display that’s significantly bigger than the 6.2-inch screen on the S21.
You want a new powerful Android
Samsung phones are among the best on the market for a reason, and the S21 Plus is one of the most powerful phones you can buy.
You have an older Samsung phone
If you currently have a Galaxy S10 or Galaxy S9 phone, the S21 Plus is a compelling upgrade. It’s fast, it’s powerful, and it’s future-proofed thanks to 5G support.
Don't buy it if...
You have an S20 or S20 Plus
You won’t gain much by replacing last year's S20 Plus with the S21 Plus, and in some regards – the lower-res screen and lack of microSD support – you'll actually get a specs downgrade There are improvements here, but the S21 isn't intended to replace your S20 handset.
You want plenty of storage space
As mentioned above, the microSD slot has been dropped for the Galaxy S21 range, and if you want 256GB of built-in storage rather than the base offering of 128GB you'll be spending extra. This isn't a phone for those who need lots of space.
You want Samsung's best phone
If you want the very best that Samsung has to offer in 2021, you want the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The S21 Plus is undoubtedly a big smartphone with impressive specifications, but the S21 Ultra is an absolute beast.
Samsung Galaxy S21 vs. S21 Ultra vs. S21 FE vs. 21+:What's the Difference?
Design
All three Samsung Galaxy S21 models have an all-screen front with a single-lens punch-hole camera in the top center of the screen, so front-on they look similar, though the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a curved display, while the other two are flat.
S21: 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9mm , 172g
S21 Ultra: 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm, 228g
S21+:161.5 x 75.6 x 7.8mm,202g
S21 FE:74.5x155.7x7.9mm,177g

S21 FE:Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100, 8GB, 128/256GB, 4500mAh
All three phones support 5G and run Android 11, with the main difference in features (beyond what’s covered above) being that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra supports Samsung’s S Pen stylus, letting you use the phone like a Galaxy Note.

Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ are very similar in terms of their offerings, with the main difference being their physical size and therefore display size, as well as a larger battery capacity in the Plus model.
While they are capable flagship devices, with a nice design, great display and plenty of power, they can't compete with the camera performance of the S21 Ultra. They are quite a bit cheaper than the Ultra, but at the same time, they aren't hugely improved over the S20 FE, which is cheaper than both for much the same offering.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra meanwhile, offers a more substantial camera, which is a much better performer, a larger and sharper display with support for the S Pen, and a more premium build quality and appearance. It's easily the most attractive device of the trio, standing apart from the other S21 models more clearly than the previous version.
