The Turtle Beach Recon 70 is a  budget-friendly gaming headphone that is available in a couple of different colors. The  Nintendo Switch model features a red-and-black color scheme. The Xbox model features green accents, and the PS4 model features blue accents. So, you can say this is a universal gaming headset. Other than the color scheme, all of the Recon 70 models are the same. You can connect the Turtle Beach Recon 70 to your console, PC, laptop, tablet, or phone via a standard 3.5mm audio jack. Its lightweight design ensures complete comfort during those hours-long gaming sessions. Synthetic leather-wrapped ear cushions can also provide added comfort, improved bass response.

In terms of sound quality, this has 40-millimeter speakers which sound amazing. Even at high volumes, there’s no distortion. The sound quality of the mic is good and clear for this price range. What's more, they have virtually no latency thanks to their wired design. The Turtle Beach Recon 200 is a good value headset with a gamer-centric look and faux-carbon fiber finish. While it doesn't have the best build quality, it is still quite comfortable and easy to use. It is also a multi-platform headset, so you can use this on your Nintendo switch, on your Xbox Series X/S, your PS5, and also for mobile devices and it will work on PC as well. In addition, the Turtle Beach Recon 200 has a 1/8” TRRS connection, so it delivers a latency-free gaming experience. The Turtle Beach Recon 200 sounds decent and has a Bass Boost feature that is always on and results in a more bass-heavy sound than some other gaming headphones.

The Bass Boost is great for experiencing the deep rumble of intense gameplay, but it requires battery use, so you have to charge these headphones from time to time. The Variable mic Monitoring is another good feature for Turtle Beach Recon 200 with which you hear and adjust the volume of your voice inside the headset so you never have to shout. Unfortunately, The Turtle Beach Recon 200 doesn’t support passive playback, which is very surprising for a wired headset and means you can’t use them at all once the battery is dead. Turtle Beach Recon 50X gaming headset is very cheap, only costs $24.95, but has decent features for this price range. Usually, at this price point, you get tinny, undefined sound and boomy, overpowering bass, but the 50X was much different. All frequencies were relatively well defined. In part, this audio quality is thanks to the 40mm Neodymium speakers. 40mm is quite a large driver size, allowing for reasonable bass reproduction. In addition, Turtle Beach Recon 50's detachable microphone also has excellent recording quality. The sleek, lightweight over-ear design with synthetic leather-wrapped ear-cups allows you to play for hours in complete comfort.

The headset offers a universal 3.5 mm connection which makes it compatible across various devices. The compatible devices are Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Mobile & PC. Turtle Beach Recon 50X  is wired, so there's no latency. but like the Turtle Beach Recon 70 and the Turtle Beach Recon 200, it doesn't have any customization options, app support, and actual”noise-canceling features. However, the combination of being both wired and battery-powered sure of the Turtle Beach Recon 200 is not accepted by every gamer. So if you want a non-battery-powered wired gaming headset with a good microphone and sound quality,  the Turtle Beach Recon 70 is more suitable for you.
