Six Flags Magic Mountain is located in Santa Clarita, California, the neighborhood of Valencia, 35 miles (56 km) northwest of downtown Los Angeles. There are presently eleven separately themed areas within the park – each zone featuring its own distinct rides, attractions, and food service venues.  It is heavily focused on thrill rides, although two children's areas (Whistlestop Park and Bugs Bunny World) do offer a handful of kids' attractions.

Take the Interstate 5 Freeway north. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM HOLLYWOOD/UNIVERSAL CITY
Take the 101 Freeway north to the 170 Freeway north. Take the 170 Freeway north to the Interstate 5 Freeway north (the 170 Freeway automatically ends at the I-5 north). Take Interstate 5 north to Magic Mountain Parkway. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM SAN DIEGO
There are two main Freeways that run out of San Diego. From Interstate 5: Take Interstate 5 north. Exit at Magic Mountain Parkway. Left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM THE INTERSTATE 15 FREEWAY
Take Interstate 15 north to the 210 Freeway west. Take Interstate 210 Freeway west to the Interstate 5 Freeway north (the 210 automatically ends at the I-5 north). Take Interstate 5 north to Magic Mountain Parkway. Exit at Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM LAX
Take Century Boulevard to the 405 Freeway north. Take the 405 Freeway north to the junction with Interstate 5 north (this happens automatically-the 405 ends at I-5). Take I-5 north to Magic Mountain Parkway. Exit at Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM BURBANK AIRPORT
Take Interstate 5 north to Magic Mountain Parkway. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM VENTURA/SANTA BARBARA
Take the 101 Freeway south to the 126 Freeway east. Take the 126 Freeway east to the Interstate 5 Freeway south. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn right at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp. Proceed along Magic Mountain Parkway to the parking toll booths and the Park entrances.

FROM LAS VEGAS
Take Interstate 15 south. From Interstate 15 south, take Interstate 210 west. From Interstate 210 west, take Interstate 5 north (the 210 Freeway automatically ends at the I-5 Freeway north). Take Interstate 5 north to Magic Mountain Parkway. Exit Magic Mountain Parkway. Turn left at the traffic signal at the bottom of the exit ramp going under the Freeway overpass. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Metro Red Line—North Hollywood 757 Express route:
From Downtown Los Angeles, take the Metro Red Line to the North Hollywood Station. Then take the North Hollywood 757 Express bus to the McBean Regional Transit Station (MRTC). From there connect to a Santa Clarita Transit routes 3 & 7 to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Metrolink train:
From Union Station Downtown Los Angeles, take the Metro Link train (Antelope Valley Line) to the Newhall Station. From there take either Santa Clarita Transit route 1 & 2 or 4 & 14 to the McBean Regional Transit Station (MRTC). Both lines service the Newhall Station every 15 minutes. From the MRTC, transfer onto a route 3 & 7 directly to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is known as the Thrill Capital of the World. The 260-acre theme park features the most world-class roller coasters than anywhere on the planet and over 100 rides, games, and attractions. Here is the list of not-to-miss Six Flags Magic Mountain rides and roller coasters.

Full Throttle

Full Throttle is the world's tallest, fastest launched looping roller coaster with 2 forward launches and one backwards launch. As its name implies, Full Throttle doesn't take its time getting to the action, launching from the station to 70 miles per hour, up and into a 160-foot loop.

Tatsu

A Bolliger & Mabillard flying coaster with a Japanese mythology theme, Tatsu is the tallest, fastest, and longest ride of its type in the world. It hugs the terrain around Samurai Summit at speeds up to 62 mph. The ride features four inversions, a 124-foot pretzel loop, a 103-foot flat spin, 96-foot-tall zero-G roll, and a 360-degree inline rollover.

X2

X2, previously known as X, was the world's first "4th Dimension" rollercoaster.  Perched on the edge of a massive 20-foot wide wing-shaped vehicle, riders plummet 200 feet to the ground – head-first, face down – and race at 76 mph spinning head-over-heels and performing forward and backward acrobatics through the massive 3,610-foot twisted steel maze.

Twisted Colossus

Twisted Colossus is a unique hybrid wood-steel coaster that combines the structure of the existing Colossus wooden coaster with a brand new state-of-the-art Iron Horse Track. Riders experience steep drops, banking curves, and two inversions on nearly 5,000 feet (1,500 m) of the track - designed to pit two simultaneously operating trains in a race against each other.

Goliath

Goliath was the first coaster designed and built by Giovanola of Switzerland. This hypercoaster combines the layouts of a twister and out and back coaster to form a unique combination. When it opened in 2000, it was the first roller coaster in the world to have a drop of over 250 ft., and a top speed of 85 mph.

Superman: Escape From Krypton

Formerly known as Superman: The Escape, Superman: Escape from Krypton was closed in July 2010 to allow several major changes to be made to it. It eventually reopened on March 19, 2011. Superman: Escape From Krypton is the first coaster to reach 100 mph. Riders accelerate in reverse from 0 to 104 mph (167 km/h) in seven seconds and climb nearly 41 stories into the air.

The Riddler's Revenge

The Riddler's Revenge is the world's tallest and fastest stand-up roller coaster which combines standard roller coaster technology with a twist -riders stand. It features six inversions in its circuit, including a 124-foot vertical loop, two diving loops, an inclined loop and two corkscrews.

Apocalypse

Apocalypse is a 2,850-foot long wooden coaster stands ten stories and reaches speeds of up to 55 miles-per-hour.  Its circuit boasts a 100-foot lift hill, a 53-degree first drop and five hills. While it's not the best, it is also recommended.

Scream

Scream is a Bolliger & Mabillard floorless coaster. It boasts a number of inversions, including a 128-foot vertical loop, a dive loop, a zero-g roll, a cobra roll and interlocking corkscrews.  Exposed to the ride's exciting features thirty-two passenger fly along 3,985 feet of track at speeds reaching 65 mph, through seven inversions, a high-speed helix, and a speed hill.

Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom

Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom is the world’s tallest vertical drop ride, with guests boarding one of two eight-person gondolas situated on either side of Superman: Escape from Krypton's lattice tower. The gondolas hit the top of the tower in 95 seconds, offering stunning views across the park. While they are at the top, guests can ponder the unprecedented, 400-foot, 85 mile per hour, villainous freefall of fate that awaits.

CraZanity

CraZanity is the worlds tallest pendulum swing ride. At a record-breaking 170 feet in the air, CraZanity reaches speeds up to 75-miles-per-hour, as it swings back and forth—higher and higher giving riders a staggering view of the world below.

Roaring Rapids

Roaring Rapids is a rapids ride. Many guests claim it is the best water ride at the park. Based on Intamin's original rapids ride at the now-shuttered Six Flags Astroworld in Houston, Roaring Rapids sees groups of up to twelve guests boarding circular rafts before racing around a fast-moving "river" circuit.

In 2019, Magic Mountain's newest attraction is West Coast Racers, a racing coaster that will feature two side-by-side tracks with four individual high-speed launches. Unfortunately, it is not open yet.

Grand American Carousel

It is an antique merry-go-round attraction. Enjoy a nostalgic ride on this restored 1912 classic.

Magic Flyer

Magic Flyer is a small, slow-paced kids' roller coaster. Young thrill seekers will ride up a 10 foot tall hill and see the sights in the charming little train village of Whistlestop Park.

Road Runner Express

Road Runner Express is a junior roller coaster. It reaches a top speed of 21mph during a 679-feet-long circuit.
