Six Flags Great America are famous for its rich type roller coasters. Up to now, there are already 17 roller coasters in the amusement park. The Newest roller coasters——Maxx Force opened in spring 2019. If you can only go on a few rides, take the below roller coasters first.
Maxx Force
Maxx Force is the fastest launch coaster in North America! Reach speeds of 78 miles per hour in under two seconds on this incredible record-breaker, featuring the fastest inversion and tallest double inversion of any roller coaster in the world.
Mardi Gras Hangover
Great America's newest ride slated to be the world's largest loop coaster standing at 100 feet tall. This coaster is bound to give you wicked hangover time, take a break from screaming to see the park from a new perspective.
American Eagle
The worlds largest classic, double tracked, wooden roller coaster. The red side and the blue side are separate carts that ride along identical paths side by side. Each battling to win the coaster race. The ride starts with a 127-foot lift and you will then drop 147 feet taking you 20 feet below ground level. After the drop, you will wind through a series of twists and turns including a 360-degree helix. Overall, American Eagle is a Six Flags classic that you don’t want to miss.
Goliath
The world’s tallest, steepest and fastest wooden roller coaster. It uses a modified steel “Topper” track that completely covers the stacks of wood along its track. With speeds 72 miles per hour, you will be jetted through twists and turns including a 180-degree zero G-roll twist. Not for the faint of heart, this is a ride for a real thrill seeker!
Demon
Demon is one of the first roller coasters to feature double corkscrews. This classic looping roller coaster takes you through three tunnels while going through corkscrew turns, vertical loops, and twists and turns.
Raging Bull
Raging bull has been a long standing crowd favorite. This legendary steel beast is the world’s first hyper-twister roller coaster, and at 202 feet tall, 5,057 feet long, and 73 miles per hour, it’s the tallest, longest, and fastest coaster at the park.
Superman
Superman has the most involved seat. The point of the ride is that you feel like you are flying like Superman, in the pose and all. As you ride face down, facing forward you will fly through many twists and turns including a pretzel loop.
Vertical Velocity
This is an inverted, launched shuttle-style coaster. Sitting in a ski lift style sear with your feet hanging below you, you will be shot out at 70 miles an hour using the advanced electromagnetic propulsion system. At 70 miles per hour, you will go up straight and then through a corkscrew turn.
Dark Knight
Dark Knight is an indoor ride which gives it an air of unnecessary mystery. This roller coaster will take you up to three stories in the air and then take you through hairpin turns, climb up unseen hills, enter complete darkness, and dip to unseen dangers.
In addition to roller coasters, there are many other rides and a few of them carry some of the same thrills.
Dare Devil Dive
Dare Devil Dive feels like a combination of hang-gliding and sky diving. The speed of the drop is approximately 65-70mph. The height of the tower is 125 feet. Flyers experience the thrill of freefall and a pendulum swing back and forth.
Giant Drop
It’s the ultimate free-fall adventure. Strap into your chair and settle in, because the ride to the top of the 227-foot tower will be the longest, most anticipatory seconds of your life. You’ll be hoisted up more than 20 stories in the air as the people below you grow further and further away. Without warning, your seat will release and you’ll plunge straight down to the ground at a staggering 62 adrenaline-charged miles per hour
