ExpHighland Park 15 Year Old @ Loch Fyne Whiskies

This is Highland Park 15 Year Old Viking Heart - a rich, spicy, complex dram from the most northerly distillery in Scotland. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion has selected mostly American and European sherry seasoned oak casks for this beauty, which married with some refill casks too. The result is an expertly balanced whisky. It also arrives in a terrifically unusual bottle, which we may be seeing more of. This ceramic decanter nods back to the earthenware vessels that whisky would have been stored in centuries ago, and is extra special in that it is made using locally sourced raw materials. With natural colour, 44% abv and a powerful peaty punch, what’s not to love?
