On 22 January 2021, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) will conclude its Chinese Lunar Calendar series with the issuance of a special event sheet celebrating the Year of the Ox. This is the twelfth sheet issued for UNPA’s Lunar New Year stamp series, which completes the entire zodiac cycle in the series. The sheet is composed on ten US$ 1.20 denominated stamps with the United Nations logo. The stamps’ tabs and background feature artworks designed by Wang Huming (China).
The Chinese Lunar New Year’s Day is 12 February 2021 which starts the year of the Ox and lasts until 30 January 2022. It will be a Metal Ox year. The previous zodiac years of the Ox sign are: 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021. People born in the year of the Ox are known for diligence, dependability, strength, determination and honesty. Showing great patience and a desire to make progress, Oxen can achieve their goals through consistent effort. They are not easily influenced by others or by their environment but persist in doing things in accordance with their ideals.
